All Time GOAT poll

Gsp ran away from the sport in his prime before usada, sorry
He was the one who wanted testing and the UFC said "It's impossible to implement universal drug testing" so he retired in 2013. USADA wasn't implemented until July 1st, 2015. Love how guys try to rewrite history to fit their own narratives.

And GSP came back, did 6 months with USADA before fighting Bisping and never pissed hot. But you do you

I don't know man, Fedor's list is pretty big. And the list of nobody include wins over Schilt:

semmy_schilt.jpg

and the biggest fighter on earth

They were 12 times his size.

I'll give you Schilt but the giant was not that skilled...

FEDOR

The legendary Russian fat WW who dominated the HW era for 10 years. His opponent usually 8 times his size. His has one of the best records in the sport, he beat almost all of his opponents in their prime:
Tim Sylvia (prime)
Nogueira 2x (prime)
CC (prime)
Arlovski (prime)
Coleman 2x (prime and old)
Randleman (prime)
Herring (prime)
Mir (old)

honorable mentions:
Arona (prime)
Sobral (prime)
Schilt (prime)
Fujita (prime)
Hunt (prime)
Rogers (prime)
Rizzo (old)
Ishi (so so)
Sonnen (old)
Lindland (prime)
Choi (prime) for the pure size difference
Goodridge (prime)

The usual site of Fedor next to his opponents:

Fedor was small fat guy, but managed to fight 10 years undefeated at HW. He seemengly did the unthinkable, fought and beat fighters that were a lot bigger than him. Nothing like that has remotely been done ever since. Never was there a dominant HW champion ever since. Fedor's prime iis 2000-2008, he always had exciting fights, most of them finishes. Fedor was the first well rounded 3 dimensional fighter, which helped him stay on top for so long. Fedor had the aura of invincibility, that no other HW would be able to reproduce. His first start of decay was the Arlovski fight, where he looked soft, slow and vulnerable but finished spectacularly and the Rogers fight showed that he really had regressed a lot, though he managed to win again in spectacular fashion.

Fedor wanted to beat his opponents at their own game, but that ultimately cost him his first lost. That and lost focus, big ego.

Fedor is considered a nice guy, he turned religious later in his career. Many think this was bad for his career. Never had any incidents, a role model.

Anderson Silva

Enter the Matrix. Anderson was so beautiful to watch. He would demolish his victims effortlessly. In 2006 Anderson was already a veteran and he had to make a choice: retire or go to the ufc and fight some more. He made the right choice and the rest is history. He shined in the ufc, he demolished Leben and then the champion Franklin. He made them look like they didn't belong there. His foot work, head movement, fast and precision strikes were light years ahead of the pack. He dominated for years to come.

Wins:
Leben (prime)
Franklin (prime)
Henderson (prime) on peds his while life
Marquart (prime) popped for ped several times
Cote
Leites (prime)
Maia (prime)
Sonnen 2x (prime) roided to the gills during the fight
Belfort (prime) peds
Okami (prime)
Jeremy Horn (everlasting prime)
Lee Muray (prime)
Newton (prime)

Anderson was so dominant at 185, he was actually bored. He wanted to challenge him self. Although he asked for the GSP fight like 500 time, he never got it cause GSP didn't want it, so Anderson went to LHW where he dominated in the same fashion

0329A08E-1422-0E8C-9AD553EC06B5E371.jpg

LHW fights
Irvine (prime) Irvine popped for peds after the fight
Bonnar prime) Bonner popped for peds after the fight
Forrest (prime, just lost the title)

Anderson had tremendous durability, speed, accuracy and invincibility aura.
Anderson had iron chin too, he took the H bomb clean like its nothing, continued to dissect Hendo like the spider that he is.

At the end of his career with the introduction of random drug testing and later on Usada, Anderson failed several drug tests. This was at the end of his career, where he was coming back from serious injury and was barely a top 10 fighter anymore.

Anderson has a few spectacular loses in his prime too, he was on the receiving end on the sport's most beautiful flying scissor heel hook.

Jones

Jones came as a late replacement for the 'injured' Shad to beat the unprepared Shogun and to start his reign. Jones is very durable fighter, but his chin will not be tested the first half of his career when nobody could touch his chin. When they finally hit that chin it proved to be iron. Jones is the last reigning dominant champion in MMA, all the other have retired/been beaten.

Jones managed to clean the division, although the division was quite old by the time of his arrival. Also many of his opponents were MWs. Most of Jones' fights were domination, Jones is flashy, dynamic, unpredictable and mixes things very well. Jones utilizes reach like no one else in the sport. Best wins:

Santos (MW)
Smith (MW)
OSP (prime)
DC (prime, hit prime when old)
Teixeira (prime)
Gustafson 2x (prime and past his prime)
Sonnen (MW)
Belfort (MW)
Evans (MW)
Machida (MW)
Rampage (old)
Shogun (fat)
Bader (prime)
Vladimir (old)
Vera (prime)
Bonner (prime)

2009-01-31-jon-jones-stephan-bonnar.jpg

Jones is extremely big LWH, who utilizes his strengths very intelligently. He rarely fights within his opponents strengths, he fights their weaknesses. In two occasions his EGO took over and he fought his opponents game. He is yet to fight a man that is bigger or stronger than him. This makes an argument that he could be the best mma athlete, cause he could easily fit in the HW division.

Jones looked unbeatable most of the time, although he had a few questionable wins which could be defined as loses:
Santos,
Gus

Jones is wild man whose name is in the papers, he has a lot of bad publicity, visits courts and jails regularly.

He is also known as a dirty fighter, who used countless eye pokes and eve openly bragged about it. He uses other dirty techniques like the oblique kick and shoulder crank. Jones has the desire to leave you permanently disabled. Jones let Machida fall on his head while unconscious, which was extremely unsportsmanlike.

Also his name is associated with several drug test failures and most recent scandal the #Pictogram or #Picogate, he is allowed to compete with peds in his blood stream legally #UsadaIsJoke

His last incident involves slapping some stripper's pussy, #Bizzare #Lion #AlphaMale

GSP

GSP is one of the most beloved champions. He is a nice guy and a role model. His fighting style is mostly wrestling based with no damage and he almost never finished a fight during his reign, so many accuse him of being boring. He likes to wear karategi and head band, but he never actually does much stand up, he prefers to control people on the ground.

He is most famous for his power double, nobody could stop it:

gsp-t1.jpg

GSP was strong as an ox, always the strongest guy in his division, he made sure he left no stone unturned, that he trained 3 times as much as his opponents and the he has the most cardio than any of his opponents. He played safe and won. JW helped him achieve that.

Best wins:
Diaz (prime)
Condit (prime)
Shields (prime)
Koschek (prime)
Alves (prime)
Penn (prime)
Fitch (prime)
Hughes (old)
Sherk
Trigg
Miller
Karo (defekt)

He never failed a drug test and was raising his voice for stricter drug testing when it was more than obvious that everyone was juiced to the gills. But having extremely muscular body himself, he was suspicious of having taking peds too.

Never wanted to take the fight against Anderson during their primes (2007-2010). He only came for one fight at old Ping.

He cheat in the second Penn fight when he greased, IMO he didn't need to do that, but as Sonnen says: if you aint cheating you aint trying hard enough.

GSP worst fight was against Shield. GSP was afraid of Shield's grappling and kept it standing. Then the unthinkable happened. The worst standup fighter in the history of the sport, outstriked GSP.
He arguably lost the Hendricks fight.

There you go fellow Sherdoggers. Out bellowed GOATS. There are not perfect, but they are our GOATS. Which one do you prefer. If I had to put a number on them

1. Anderson
2. Jones
3. Fedor
4. GSP

You are one biased deepshit. Go to hell.

Fedor didn't fight in the UFC. Therefore, he is disqualified. This is just my criterion.

Jon Jones became champion at 23 years old, in a big boy division. Look at all the 23 year olds around you and tell me if you see any one of them becoming UFC LHW champion, and going on a rampage of crushing all the overrated PRIDE champions. LOL

Jon Jones is not the GOAT, because he has major holes in his game e.g. his boxing. If Jon Jones could box, then he would truly be on an even bigger level.

However, Jon Jones is the "Greatest So Far." Then I will go with Anderson Silva. GSP was finished by Matt Serra. I can't forgive that.

But you forgive Silva being finished by Takase and Chonan?

If we're allowing PEDS: Silva, Jones is getting there though. If we're talking "clean": GSP.

Fedor, IMO prime vs prime he beats the others more often than not.

Fedor is the GOAT. Anyone below LHW can only be P4P GOAT aka GOAT in fantasy world where everyone is the same size and we ignore the reality that Fedor and Jones would literally eat them.

LMAO, agreed, this idea of a P4P GOAT is just bizarre to me.

Anderson Silva is the GOAT.

Soon Jones will pass him.

They are the only 2 that should ever be considered.

It's GSP: Fought in the toughest division by far between those four (and it's not close at all), never cheated, cherry-picked two opponents only: Diaz and Bisping, fought living legends and made it look easy.
His worst fight was against Shields (aguarbly the 3rd best WW of all time) and won, even tho Shields eye-pocked the shit out of him.

Jones and Silva are cheaters, and even tho I have Fedor as the #2, he can't be #1 because:
- Never fought in the UFC
- Fought a bunch of cans in Pride

Should add for Fedor;
Monson (old)
Rizzo (old)

4x Combat sambo champion
1x european sambo champion
6x Russian sambo champion

I know those are irrelevant on Sherdog and 80% of sherdoggers could acomplish the same if they wanted, but still...

Other "goats" haven't acomplished that much outside the ufc/mma except black belts in bjj, police records maybe and videos of deadlifts...
