All Time GOAT poll

Watching the savagery of the battles in Pride open weight tournaments, along with the brutal take-on-all comers (no pick-and-choosing) done before the current UFC fights of "select who we want for the belt" , it just doesn't compare to the past competitions of the truly best fighters against the best fighters.

Fedor on accomplishments, Cain for a guy who had a short window I believe was as good as any HW in history, Fedor included.

Personally I have JDS over Miocic.
I feel you, man. Each year, I feel like Stipe’s ages worse and worse, while JDS has a criminally underrated resume. I think overall, they both have great resumes but Stipe’s title reigns put him over JDS all time.

4 defenses for anyone to take it serious.

That's it right there. Do the thing no one in three decades could do, and then he's at least in the conversation. Until then, there are plenty of more accomplished heavyweights from multiple organizations that have a better claim on the GOAT title.

i mean, he beat the former interim HW champ, and the #1 HW Contender. he's already the GOAT HW. beating old man fake croatian adds slightly. he's already the goat though.
the real #1 HW contender was Pavlovich on a 5-fight win streak. Gane is 1-2 in his last 3 fights.

I don't value "title fights" very high just because it doesn't inherently mean that the champion is fighting the best (or most deserving).

If you look at their top ten ranked wins...

Santos' resume:

#4 Fabricio Werdum
#9 Mirko Filipovic
#6 Shane Carwin
#1 Cain Velasquez
#4 Frank Mir
#9 Mark Hunt
#6 Ben Rothwell
#4 Derrick Lewis

dos Santos has 8 top ten wins.

Miocic's resume:

#5 Mark Hunt
#3 Andrei Arlovski
#1 Fabricio Werdum
#3 Alistair Overeem
#5 Junior dos Santos
#2 Francis Ngannou
#1 Daniel Cormier
#2 Daniel Cormier

Miocic has 8 top ten wins.

They have the same number of wins, but I think JDS overall has the better resume (including a win against Miocic himself when JDS hadn't completely fallen off, unlike in their rematch). The only past-their-prime fighter on JDS' resume is Cro Cop, while with Miocic's resume it's the majority.

prime fedor would have blasted HW bones. I think lhw Bones gives fedor and everyone else that ever lived absolute hell.

Excluding the japanese pro wrestlers and the Zululinhos that Fedor fought in between his Pride run, he has about 8 or 10 legit wins there which is great

How many wins do you think Jones needs since he will add great names to his resume like Gane, Miocic, Blaydes, Pavlovich etc?
Fedor has 12 top ten ranked wins at Heavyweight, so Jones needs at least 11 more, but I think he'll retire/lose/get stripped of the title before that happens.

I was at Stipe-JDS 1 live :)
I appreciate the work you do with the ranking threads, and I know they have an equal number of ranked wins. For me, Stipe’s 2 title reigns with 4 total defenses, 3 in one streak, put him ahead of JDS all time, with his one reign and one defense. If JDS had a couple of title defenses in his reign, I might rank differently.

Pavlovich is the easiest type of fight for jones. Jones team is too smart for a brawler type.

they carefully chose Gane for a reason...

I'm 100% confident that Jones will never fight Pavlovich and Blaydes, just like I predicted he wouldn't fight Ngannou.

His next fight will probably be a 70 year old Stipe.

did you also think gane was going to win? i am 100000% confident jones wines the octagon whore mat with pavlovich and blaydes. literally does whatever he wants. just like i predicted about gane. his next fight will be against gramps, and then after that, fuck who cares? jones wins.

If he beats Ngannou and then beats ~5-7 high level guys he might be ranked higher than Big Nog all time HW

He's 1-0 against a fighter who's never held the title...

Peak? Jones, Cain, Fedor, Stipe, Ngannou, Ubereem all have a case.

Stipe is incredibly overrated on here. Go through his record and really look, and see how many past prime guys he beat.
