This should give us some idea of how much there is yet to learn , we're not even certain of a planetary count in our own solar system.

Red makes me chuckle. An old roommate of mine was saying how she thought we should start looking at other galaxies for life, because we cant find any here.
/facepalm
we are not certain how many planets are in our own solar system , that is a fact.
Did you read the article about planet Tyche? if it exists... it is in our solar system and would be large enough to be considered a planet
space is no big deal, just the distance from A to B.
Now TIME on the other hand, that shit will warp your mind. We have a real rudimentary understanding of time at this point. We know that traveling at light speed will make u age slower than mufuckers sittin still, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
WTF is time all about? What IS that shit?

There is no working understanding of Time , really
There is the common understanding of what time is in the everyday sense , which is essentially a measure of Earth's relative position to that of the Sun.
What time is it?
1 AM , therefore the Sun isn't up
Or we could say...
It's wintertime , therefore put on a coat because we are tilted away from the Sun.
But in the absence of a Sun or an Earth , the persistent idea is that Time should still exist. But how would you measure time then, by counting? watching numbers go by on a digital clock and using that to gauge how long it will take you to accomplish something like travel from X to Y...
The best definition of time I've heard is this.
It's natures way of making sure everything doesn't happen all at once.
You should post a few moons or something. Maybe a galaxy cluster too.
But that's just a linear interpretation of time. Imo everything DOES happen at once, but our perception prohibites us from experiencing it in that way. and yes the past CAN be revisited. But with our current, dopey understanding of the concept time, it's near impossible to grasp the reality that we're actually a part of.
There is no present, only the immediate past and future. The present cannot exist without either of these conditions. It's weird, I know.
Today Private Company Space X launched its new Falcon 9 rocket to carry a commercial satellite.

We now have Companies doing what only Nations could do before.
can't get into reddit, it's such a poorly designed site. hard on the eyes and difficult to navigate
