Since the Obama's apparently were pushing the city to drop the charges and turn it over to the feds, I'd say there is little hope in that. Obama thoroughly compromised the federal agencies as anyone paying attention to the FBI since day one can surely see by now.

But the US Attorney for the district is a Trump appointee, since they switch with new administrations, and he—in consultation with the Attorney General, also a Trump appointee—decides whether to prosecute. So there is some independence from the corrupt Chicago machine there.

it could honestly be that they mishandled something so catastrophically that it doesn't matter if he forged the scenario or not. Who knows but people walk on stupid police mistakes all the time. Um I don't know if you followed this case but it doesn't seem anywhere in the realm of possibility that he "didn't do anything wrong". They're saying that they're letting him off because he does a lot of community service lmao.
