Aljo cuts weird promo, looking LEAN

The fact that Yan was out wrestling him is the scary part. Where do you go from there? Yan dropped him in the first and only gave up one useless takedown before putting on a clinic from there and making Aljo look like an Ammy.

Sterling clearly won the 2nd round, and one judge gave him the 1st too, I'd argue he slightly took the 1st myself. As far as a clinic, Yan looked amazing in the 3rd round, up until he threw an illegal fucking knee a few seconds after the ref looked at him and clearly told him not to fucking knee Sterling. Prior to the illegal fucking knee the fight was far from the lopsided clinic for Yan that Sherdoggers have made it out to be, Yes Yan was doing far better in the 3rd and it looked like Sterling was fading rapidly. But anything could have still happened. The 2nd round was proof Yan isn't on some untouchable level Sterling can only dream about,

Yan's best night, and Aljo's worst night, yet the champ still came out on top.

There will be no doubt this time.

What did Sterling do to win the first round? He got tripped multiple times (doesn't count as a takedown due to no control), dropped once by a cross and once by a leg kick. He threw a bunch of punches into Yan's arms and landed a knee and a takedown that leed to less than Yan's trips. He didn't win anything but volume which is the lowest scoring criteria. It's worth a rewatch. Yan was wrecking him in round 1.

Aljo probably won the second as they spent the majority of the fight against the cage. He landed nothing of note and took a flush knee before ending the round with his back taken. Volume and wall and stall is all he had.

Rewatch it with no sound.

The 1st round was close, neither wrecked either, Yan certainly wasn't wrecking him. There's a big difference between losing a fight, and getting wrecked. The most wrecking Yan did in that fight was the super illegal knee. Yan did better and 2 and 3, but I didn't see this wrecking Sherdoggers have been claiming since day one. I did see Sterling lose a few rounds and look tired. To me Sterling won a close 1st round where neither did anything super impressive.

As for Yan and this mega Wrecking he was administering? That would be Jones vs Shogun, or Cain vs JDS fights 2 and 3.

Aljo was falling all over the place. Getting beaten in his best area and finished every round in a submissive position bar one. He was enroute to losing 4/5 rounds if he somehow survived. Let's not forget why he was in the position to get the illegal knee. he shot in got sprawled on and then sat in the fetal position effectively.
Don't get me wrong he three the kitchen sink at Yan in the first, but what else did he achieve? His argument for the second is holding Yan against the cage in a round he took a direct knee to the head in. The stats don't even reflect the fight when you watch it live. I was a Aljo fan and he was getting embarrassed in that fight.
