Should RDR move to LHW?

-One FC LHW is 225 lbs, so it's not like he hasn't competed at the higher weights. 205 would be a good compromise imo.

-The striker heavy lineup and lack of wresters at LHW would favor RDR's style.

-Guys like Fluffy, hazmat, and DDP are terrible matchups if you're cutting a lot of weight and tend to gas quickly. Apparently, Brendan was also a terrible matchup.

-His chin held up decent at MW. Bobby floored him and followed up with Gn'P and he was able to survive. His chin could be even better at LHW without having to cut as much.

-Understand that it was RDR's 5th weight cut, but I don't think that some time off will remedy how his body responded to that last cut. He's 35. Weight cuts don't get easier as you age.
With all due respect to RDR skills, I don't think it matters he won't be a serious contender at LHW or MW after that loss and will probably age out before he gets a shot vs a champion.

RDR should ask for the Khalil fight. I have a suspicion that Khalil has no ground game.
Why would he get it tho? Rountree should. It would be step back for Khalil at this point. He should advocate for fight vs Ulberg/Ankalaev...or Blachowicz, at worse rematch with Walker.

Also i dont think that he would get TS in 2 fights as some people suggest. I think best they could do for him would be RDR vs Zhang #15, then loser of Rakič vs Murzakhanov... (if he wins)

yes and he would do fine, far smarter move.

he already fought at ONEs LHW division, 225 pounds, won the belt, and then fought the HW champ, malykhin, and lost.

he'd be just fine at 205 and it would make the division feel more stacked

Yeah, there's not many grapple-heavy guys at 205lbs so he might do okay.

You are selling RDR way short. RDR has only one loss and it was clearly due to bad weight cut. Most of the guys in LHW are just one dimensional strikers. RDR will judo throw and strangle most of these guys w ease. Hill or Rountree are the fights that make the most sense.

He is too fragile for lhw

Probably not, unless he's having weight-cutting issues.

He just doesn’t have it. Not having to cut weight gets canceled out by handling much larger fighters.

He lost one fight. Yes it sets him back but I dont think you need to jump ship yet. Still have plenty of fights, DDP, Costa, Izzy, take your pick. He goes out and beats Costa and maybe DDP or someone else and he's right back in the mix in the div.

Think you lose few more then maybe look to see whats going on at LHW.

Iam not saying that he is bad, or that he wouldn't have chance to crack top 5,etc... The thing is that there is no valid reason for him to get top 5 fight in LHW after losing to guy which was ranked #9 in MW. Like i said before there is #1 Jiri and Ankalaev and on #3 Ulberg + Rountree had good fight with Jiri. Then u have upcoming Murzakhanov vs Rakič. RDR simply dont deserve to jump over these guys...

He would need to stack some wins at LHW to deserve that. I personally dont think he deserves better than fight vs #13 Krylov/#14Menifield or #15 Zhang. Thats all.

Also forgot about Jan which will for sure try to get top 5 fight aswell since he is #4.
