Social Alistair Overeem says that wokeness made his daughter think she's a man.

I'm not talking about my kids in any meaningful way on a popular podcast. Bad form. Daughters, in particular, are fragile with respect to their father's opinion of them. I know since I raised one and spent a lot time around her and her friends. A daughter is a spectacular gift and even if he is 100% right in his analysis there is a better approach. What is done, is done, and he has to live with it now, however it falls. Direct talk is better when face to face. You have to look your daughter in the eye, she has to look you in the eye.
I wouldn’t assume he hadn’t, teens are dumb as heck, all the advice you give is essentially long play at that stage. Even worse when endorsed by moronic school that has a mixture of authority and stupidity.

The lessons I take with me as a father are:

- the importance of being deeply involved in your children’s everyday lives.

- Don’t let social media raise your children.

This is purely anecdotal but a close family member, who is a teacher here in Sweden has noticed over the years that the majority of kids that label themselves as non-binary and trans are:

- White
- Performing poorly in school
- battles with a various number of issues
- lacking social skills
- has troubled families or mothers that are quite the activists.

This daughter-specific description of parent identity is quite funny given tge context.

You've introduced the shittiest philosophical paradox I've encountered, the Ignoreem paradox.

If he talks shit and denounces his daughters transition to a boy, he is insisting that she's a girl and by your definition is forsaking his fatherly relationship with her. If, however, he acknowledges that she's a male now, he would be free to castigate and deny her chosen gender identity.

It's the Dutch way. We don't beat around the bush like the rest of the world.

I'm not dutch but I am immersed in dutch culture. I must say I disagree. The dutch are known for being direct and even sometimes rude, but this is more in face to face conversations and doesn't preclude respecting people's privacy, especially not your own family.

And another dutch trope is tolerance of diversity and acceptance of individual choice, particularly for gender and sexual identity roles.

Reem is just a prick. Dutch or otherwise.

The fact that your main objective is to be right about something, shows how limited you are in your current stage.

The data varies, even for the studies above 23%, 13% of those identify as bi-sexual.

It's very poosible that just as many people had those feelings inside them back in the day, but were way too scared to admit it, or even admit it in a survey..
Your deepening concession is again accepted.

Is it possible? It's possible the sun will explode tomorrow. It's overwhelmingly unlikely. All evidence is to the contrary. Surveys and studies done in the past were sometimes carried out with anonymity for the respondents, so fear wouldn't have played a factor. Furthermore, yet further studies have corroborated this complication. What was previously argued and believed by advocates to be genetic behavior has seen more recent data & studies strongly indicating an environmental "nurtured" component. In the case of homosexuality, this isn't too alarming, but in the case of young people being led astray in denial of the reality of their very biology, especially when major mental health malaise is associated with the condition, including suicide rates, it is profoundly disturbing.

You exhibit the familiarly stunted, groomed outlook of a young person who hasn't yet thought for yourself. Quite limited.

Being tolerant and accepting of individual choice does not mean you have to agree with someone’s choices / lifestyle. He’s not saying he’s kicking her out of the house unless she changes is he?

Alistair’s daughter may be very open about this issue. I don’t know, but it’s quite presumptuous to assume he’s doing something she doesn’t like here. We simply don’t know.

I’m sure she knows his stance on this topic though. Dutch families tend to talk about difficult topics and not sweep them under the rug.

not descendants dude literally right now there are open air slave markets in Arab countries in Northern Africa. Thanks Obama
I meant historically from the trans-Saharan slave trade. Castrated people don't reproduce.

Obviously they can enslave people from other African countries even today. Usually it involves human trafficking / selling children into forced labour etc.

Isn't it in the millions the amount of people still enslaved in Africa? But what Overeem said is the truth and he has every right to say so.

I'm sure it is an absurd number and yes we support freedom of speech wholeheartedly

If the FCC is supposed to be regulating the media they are doing a terrible job. Is the mobile phone not considered a mass media device? The internet is being used to transmit mass media.

As for taxes, I’m not super into politics so I’m not sure where the parties exactly stand but from as much as I’ve gathered Republicans don’t generally like to be taxed and the Democrats seem to be in favor of taxing corporations.

My issue is that regulating media seems to be a “it’s for the good of all of us” argument but when it comes to taxation, job or economy issue, it’s always a pick yourself up by your boot straps rebuttal aka you are on your own when people ask why there is a wealth disparity and how they can afford to not be poor.
What do you think taxes are and who did you think pays them? We already do tax everybody, nobody "likes being taxed", which is why even the people who argue for higher taxes don't want it for themselves and just want other people to be taxed more than them, and YOU don't get any of that money anyway. Even if you used the theoretical "spending on services" to justify being a minority partner in your own finances, tax revenues and spending aren't even related anymore anyway.

Not to mention the highest taxed places in the country also have the most income inequality and the most homeless by a mile. Trickle down taxation or punitive taxes don't seem to be working.

And none of this has anything to do with Overeem's daughter being a tranny anyway. I mean you thought Overeem's daughter "never has to work in her life" because Overeem's has a net worth of $10 million. I guess that's true the same way disable people "never have to work", but it's not because of Overeem's money. He's made $15 million over 20 years and has 3 kids, himself and wife that cost money over that 20 years, and ironically the high taxes in Europe are why he doesn't even have close to that amount of money, and nowhere near enough for 5 people to live luxuriously and "never have to work" for the next 40 years.

Damn mad max you sound very ignorant. People are ok with saying what they are and not being scared or in the closet like in past times. Look it up cause the internet never lies
That is beyond stupid and doesn't hold up under any scrutiny at all.

If your silly thesis were true, the numbers would be pretty even across generations and countries, and it isn't even close. It's 2024 for everybody, so if it were a matter of "finally ok with saying what they are and not being scared", you'd see a similar explosion in older people finally admitting they've been gay and trans this whole time, yet somehow it's only the generation targeted by pop culture, social media and advertising campaigns.

Yeah, but apparently she’s his son now so it’s all good.
