The first time I played this game it was just on a normal TV, no headphones or VR or theater or anything special, and my ass was clinched so tight it could have crushed a walnut. I can't even imagine the first playthrough being with headphones, home theater, VR, volume turned up real loud, etc.Playing this with some good headphones or home theater is anxiety inducing.
Great game.

The first time walking over a "dead" android and it suddenly comes alive and grabs you without warning........I played it for the first time a few weeks ago, it had been in my backlog for years. Was really good. Honestly was more creeped out by the androids than by the alien. There was a lot of brilliant environmental design, they did a great job with the Sevastopol
Me too, they scared me just as much, if not more with their persistent terminator/Friday the 13th Jason stride. Their becoming unstable killing machines fits in so well with the shady Seegson corp that makes them if you read the terminals.I played it for the first time a few weeks ago, it had been in my backlog for years. I don't think my heart could take this in VR. the first sleeping android is number 1 bullshit. when I walked into the room, I called out that the homie was playing dead and was going to pull my leg. So I try to use the electric baton to bash the homie but none of the hits connect. Realizing it was futile, I continue on my business, when I walk away, the homie wakes up and grabs my footThe first time walking over a "dead" android and it suddenly comes alive and grabs you without warning........

Yeah, the "it was too long" thing baffled me. How could more of a great thing be bad? It wasn't like it was filled with useless padding. My wishlist for AI2:
1) A lot of crybabies bitched about how long the first game was. Fuck'em. I want AI2 to be just as long, if not longer than AI1.
2) Some underwater missions, but make it ominous and spooky as hell.
3) Working Joes are able to crawl into the vents and come after you. Could you fucking imagine?

4) Multiple xenos from the get-go. No need to hide it again. Sometimes you have to navigate a location with 3-5 xenos roaming around. Yikes!
5) Auto Locking Pulse Rifles - (With the ability to actually kill xenos; though ammo is fairly limited and "battle" missions are few and far between. Most of the game should be like AI1.... hide and seek from the alien/s; survival horror).
6) The Queen HAS to be the final boss of the game. It would be so damn epic. I'm imagining it like you are armed to the teeth Rambo-style vs Queen + 15 evil Joes + 20 xenos + 100 facehuggers....AT THE SAME TIME. Make it chaotic as fuck. But to give us a chance, allow us to wield TWO auto-locking pulse rifles simultaneously; one in each hand and let us go HAM with them.

7) Overall try and make the game as scary as possible. Focus on mood and atmosphere and tension and dread above all else. The first game did this well but I feel like it can be pushed significantly further. Scarier environments, scarier xenos, scarier joes, more intense score (more often), longer missions with more on the line, more horror and gore, significantly more brutal and horrific death scenes, etc.
8) Multiple major locations. 2 or 3. Spend 1/2 of the game on a space station, 1/2 of the game on a distant planet, and then maybe end it back on Earth with a solid epilogue. Make it epic and sprawling. ~35 hours on the station and another ~35 hours on the planet, with the epilogue getting a solid 5 hours.
9) I like Amanda Ripley but maybe we can switch to a guy this time. Hear me out.......
10) - Pie in the sky idea: I would love to continue with Amanda, but if her story is over, lets bring in a new character that would REALLY get people talking. Go all out........ hire Arnold Schwarzenegger for his voice and likeness to play the main character.

(but make the character ~30 years younger than Arnold's real age).
I don't see why it couldn't be done. He's been in a few modern video games thus far so why not this one too? (If he's too expensive for the whole shebang, buy his likeness and hire a voice actor that can mimic his voice and inflection as perfectly as possible; exactly like they did with the new Indiana Jones game..... Harrison Ford's likeness and a voice actor that sounds super close to him). The alternative would be to go with Sly. Or Chuck Norris. Or JCVD. The hype would be absolutely OFF THE CHARTS!
lol, pie in the sky indeed.

What does that mean?I would like to see the second one lean into the resident evil side of things
survival horror like the last game. but with more weapons, ammo conservation, variety of enemies. Would like to see some of the crazier xenomorph variants in the game. What does that mean?
I feel like its a logical step to lean a bit more in that direction, but I would say not to overdue it. Every xeno should still be a nearly insurmountable obstacle, and any kill should in and of itself feel like overcoming a huge boss fight, imo.survival horror like the last game. but with more weapons, ammo conservation, variety of enemies. yes exactly !! an re2 remake clone in the aliens universe, you essentially have a pack of nemesis/mr x running around at all times. Id like to have a feature where if you start to make noise they show up and the longer you draw out a gun battle the more xenos you attract so early game before you find gear firing off your starter pistol could be suicideI feel like its a logical step to lean a bit more in that direction, but I would say not to overdue it.
