No they never figured that out. Even if she did not sure I'd care in her position. What else am I going to do? Stay awake till I die bored as fuck with this robot?

the engineers wouldnt be too happy with shaw visitng. needless to say, shaw isnt going to get the answers to her questions with david dropping those canisters onto the planet.

Nope.

Even if she did know, she couldn't fly an alien ship. She needed him to get off that planet, and she didn't have any food or water.

I honestly think she just doesn't give a fuck anymore. She came for answers and live or die she's going to get as many as she can before she goes.

She'd probably try to talk to them to find out if they were all like the ones she met.

Unlike David who carpet-bombed their city with bioweapons literally the minute he arrived on the planet.
 
I find it amusing how no coneceptual designer to this day has been able to effectively recreate H. R. Giger's art style. The new look of the Engineers (compared to the original Space Jockey), the Neomorph (yes I know it's not supposed to be a fully-developed Xeno), the Engineers' homeworld...none of it has that Giger flair to it. It all merely looks like a derivative of his biomechanical style...an interpretation of what they "think" he might have come up with. But they play it too safe with the designs. None of it has that WTF/erotic/horror/nightmare aspect that made Giger so iconic.

He truly was a one of a kind. RIP.

iirc, he did reveal it to her but claimed he did it because her bf said he'd do whatever it took to further the mission or some shit like that.


Either way, kind of a cop-out for them to just fast forward their journey in a 2 minute prologue. I'd hope the have something bigger planned.

IMHO, the Alien Queen was the only threat that equaled (and in some ways surpassed) the original H.R. Geiger concept art.

Everything else has been extremely half-assed.

That's why I loved Prometheus because it wasn't just another Alien flick filled with Xenomorphs, it had completely original threats, including the Engineer.

But I'm also hyped for Covenant because we need a new Alien flick filled with a Xenomorph-like threat, and the movie poster hints there will be a Queen.

Ridley Scott directing a Alien flick with a Queen? Fucking take my money now!

Hate I have to wait another month. I may be watching this twice in one weekend, and I haven't done that... well... since 1995.

I'm just puting together what we see in this video with what we've seen in previous trailers and TV spots.

Take a look at this trailer at the 1:57 mark where you can see the same open plaza you see in the prologue. In the video above you see the plaza getting filled with Engineers coming to check out the ship, in the 1:57 of this one you see the same plaza filled with petrified corpses:



Or for something more precise, look at the 0:20 mark of this TV spot where you can see David releasing the weapons in what surely must be the continuation of the scene seen in the prologue above:
