This movie swagger jacked my name.

Looking forward to this. I thought the last movie was ridiculous and the one before that aswell, the one with the pyramid .

Ive always found it bizzare how the original alien was made 1979 and still outclasses the majority of movies made today. I hope they can capture the vibe of the first movie.

Dragon I like all your posts m8, you're all right, You can come over to my house and fuck my sister.

although neomorph sounds like a shitty digimon.

Hmm, that alien description has me intrigued.

ALIEN: COVENANT Xenomorph is Called Neomorph and More Details Revealed

0alien-c.jpg

In a recent interview with Mark Goodier on BBC Radio 2, Michael Fassbender accidently let slip the name Neomorph while referring to the Alien from the original film.

AvPGalaxy.net can exclusively confirm that Neomorph is actually the name that the crew working on Alien: Covenant used for a brand new variation of the Alien encountered in the film.

The site also got some additional details about the Neomorphs. These Aliens are the result of the local ecosystem being mutated by the accelerant/black goo. Over time, pods started to grow on the trees and the ground, and release a spore when disturbed.

These spores infect several members of the Covenant crew by entering the body through the ear and nostrils. The spores cause the growth of the Neomorphs inside the infected hosts – something that is reminiscent of William Gibson’s first draft of Alien 3. One of the Neomorphs bursts from the back of one of the infected crew, a “backburster”. The other crewmember’s Neomorph erupts through their throat.

The births are preceded by the eruption of two small dorsal spikes. These spikes and a pointed skull are also used to break out of an embryonic sack (similar to the Deacon in Prometheus). The Neomorph resembles some of the older concept art of the proto-Aliens from Prometheus (see above), specifically the white colouration, with a pointed head and two dorsal spines. Upon birth, the Neomorphs move on all fours similar to the Bambi-burster from Alien 3.

When they mature, they grow significantly larger and walk on their back legs. They were more animal-like in behaviour with fang-like teeth. Unlike the earlier Prometheus concepts, the Neomorphs also have tails. In addition, the adult Neomorphs also developed a slightly translucent appearance (harkening back to unused concepts from Alien and Prometheus) as previously rumored.

Contrary to earlier reports, Alien: Covenant will not feature the return of any creatures from Prometheus aside from the Engineer and the Neomorph’s passing resemblance to the Deacon. It’s possible that the Trilobite was mistaken for the immature Neomorph.

Earlier drafts of Prometheus, when it was a more clear-cut Alien prequel, featured the white, slightly translucent variant of the Alien as a form of proto-Alien that was discovered alongside the traditional Aliens.

AvPGalaxy Exclusive: The Neomorphs – Alien: Covenant’s New Aliens! Plus Backburster and Throatburster

The thing that bothers me about the latest alien movies and kind of movies in general, is that there are no more artists involved in movies anymore. Like art artists. Like Giger or Mobius (sp?) or shit, I would even put Bottin and Savini in there as artists.
These aliens are video game level aliens. Shit, I would even bitch that the alien queen in aliens looked horrible.

they need real artist back in movies, not just some digital generic artists.

I like all the Alien movies without exception but I'll agree the older ones were more visceral.

TBH that neomorph looks kind of weak, not Alien: Resurrection hybrid weak, but still. Xenomorph inspires psychosexual terror. This thing is just kinda ew.

Just underscores how ace the original Giger design was I guess.

This description of the neomorph sounds interesting with all the logic they're putting into its evolution (spores, backbursters, etc.) but I feel like it's sucking all the mystery and intrigue out of the creature by revealing every facet of how it came to be. It's like the decision to officially reveal Wolverine's origins. I preferred it when he was shrouded in mystery.

I similarly prefer the xenomorph to be this completely alien, unknowable creature whose design and purpose we cannot begin to fathom.

i dislike that the selling point for alien movies after Aliens was "check out the DOG alien hybrid! ... or the Human Alien Hybrid! then the PROTO ALIEN XENOMORPH! and now....the Neomorph...."

just make a good fuckin movie thats selling point isn't what the new alien looks like....its a movie not an ipod

Gotta be honest here.. this is starting to sound worse and worse.

yeah, i am basically doing my best to completely forget promethius
the alien origin story, like most origin stories, i just don't care about

lol, did you think it was going to get better?

Marsellus: You see, this profession is filled to the brim with unrealistic motherfuckers. Motherfuckers who thought their ass would age like wine. If you mean it turns to vinegar, it does. If you mean it gets better with age, it don't.

Never said I thought it would get better, just pointing out that it's getting worse.

I don't like all these new updates and info on the new aliens. Its ruining the surprise! Really, fans uncovering all this cool shit are really shooting themselves in the foot. The surprise is half the fun. Do your research after you see the movie! Quit trying to give answers to something you don't have all the information for. It's actually a lot more fun trying to figure out why they did something after the fact instead of predicting with very little evidence. You grow expectations on something you weren't supposed to see in the first place. You go into the movie with these absolutely false expectations and when they are ruined, somehow the movie isn't as good in your eyes.

@Dragonlordxxxxx, if you're reading this, can you please stop mentioning me in this thread?

nah, it is just my pessimism on most movies made now

someone said something interesting, they said in the old days you made a movie you thought was good and hoped that other people liked it, now people make movies trying to see if marketing thinks people will like it
ohhh well

The original space jockey had a hole in its chest, and was piloting a ship full of xeno eggs, so it's implied one somehow got free and infected the space jockey somehow. This is more easily explained post-Prometheus where the Space Jockey's "elephant" face is revealed to just be a mask protecting a human-like head underneath.

I don't recall them really getting into the origins of the black liquid, to the point of whether it was natural or artificial. I think arguments could be made for either case.

And as far as the xeno goes there is the chance other engineers learned of the ship's crash in Prometheus and investigated it. If they happened across the proto-xeno they could have deduced it came from the dead engineer's body, and prompted further experimentation to refine it and create a new, deadlier bioweapon, leading to the classic Xenomorph design we are all familiar with.

Except that there is a mural of an alien queen on the wall of the engineer's ship, suggesting xenomorphs already existed prior to the film.

I always thought the black goo was some extreme mutagen infused with xenemorph DNA, a bio weapon. If you can infect a planet with it the end result will be xenomoph like creatures spawning everywhere and wiping out all other life.
