God, I'm just so damn bummed about this. When Blomkamp first revealed his ideas for the franchise, it was everything I'd been hoping for. Then that piece of shit Ridley came it and ruined everything. Seriously, I am raging. :icon_evil

Just beyond disgusted.

I always thought the Prometheus characters were highly flawed, stupid and odd because they're the types of people to take a hybernation trip into deep space in the name of science with people they dont even know. They're all weird to me... what no friends, girlfriends, family or love of life beyond science??

There's an actual trip like this being planned to Mars and I cant help but assume the crew are academics and yet supremely stupid to sign up for such a trip.

I liked Promethus a lot . But te characters were by far just beyond retarded. I don't need to give examples I'm sure you are aware.

Did they really get to explain Milburn's behavior by making him a super ***? That is the most retarded excuse I've ever heard for his behavior. Pretty much every character in the movie made the most irrational decisions possible.

The only redeeming quality of the movie is the big budget sci fi graphics. I'm a sucker for cool sci fi movie sets. It's just as fun as the actual plot to see fantasy worlds with extraordinary sights. I especially love space sets.

I really don't give a shit anymore. Ridley has made a lot of shit films. The Counselor to this day is one of the biggest shit bombs in film history that I can recall ... And look at that fucking cast!

Exodus is a bad film. Robbin Hood is abysmal. Body of Lies wasn't good. Prometheus was underwhelming. American Gangster was somehow boring. A Good Year... C'mon.

He's become a hack, it appears. He's got some great, classic films in his career, but he's not making good movies anymore.

Milburn's Idiotic Behavior in PROMETHEUS Finally Explained

Prometheus-Milburn-Fifield-2-Dragonlord.jpg

Ridley Scott's Prometheus was one of the most anticipated films in 2012 but turned out to be a huge disappointment thanks largely in part to its annoying and obnoxious characters. We now take a look at Milburn (Rafe Spall), one of the said moronic characters in the film, and try to explain some of his inexplicable dumb actions, like petting the space cobra and other foolish behaviors. There's only one logical explanation why a well-educated biologist would act in such a idiotic manner. Milburn is clearly a homosexual. Below is a list of irrefutable proof to support this theory:

1. Milburn immediately zeroes in on Fifield (Sean Harris) at the mess hall, sits down at his table, and introduces himself with a creepy schoolgirl-crush smile. Milburn doesn't even bother introducing himself to another crew member directly seating besides Fifield. This anonymous crew member looked to be decently dressed and civilized, all good qualities for a potential friend. But nooooo, Milburn is more drawn to the mohawked heavily-tattooed serial killer-looking Fifield. Go figure. (Who in Weyland Industries screens these assholes??)

2. At the debriefing, Fifield belittles Shaw's star map and Milburn is the only one grinning like an idiot. And when Fifield puts down Shaw's Engineer theory and Milburn laughed like it's the greatest fucking joke he has ever heard in his life.

3. When Fifield has a nervous breakdown inside the alien building and asks who wants to join him back to the ship, Milburn happily says yes. [In Bane's voice] But of course. Milburn, abandoning his natural scientific curiosity, hopes to get some quality time with his BFF.

Fifield >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> potentially the greatest scientific discovery of mankind ever

4. Fifield and Milburn get lost inside the alien structure. I'm pretty sure Milburn mislead them and intentionally got themselves lost so that he could spend an uninterrupted romantic evening with Fifield.

5. When Fifield freaks out at seeing the cobra alien life form, Milburn takes this opportunity to show Fifield that he is boyfriend material by petting the snake against his better judgment.

6. Before the cobra enters Milburn's mouth, if you listen really carefully, you can hear Milburn's faint death cry, "I love you, Fifield..."

Interesting theory, after #5, I expected #6 to be...

6. When the Cobra Alien enters Milburn's mouth, it looks like he enjoys it, and has experience with things going into his mouth of that length, girth, and color.

In all seriousness, I'll keep this theory in mind the next time I watch Prometheus.

Those that I've noticed that felt it was a huge dissapointment, more often than not, had huge expectations that were unfulfilled. News of Ridley Scott returning to the Alien franchise for a prequel caused fanboys of the original Alien to scream in joy, and make lists of everything they wanted to see.

Myself, am a huge fan of 'Aliens' but not as much for the original, but my love for the franchise died with Alien3. After that, I've enjoyed the later releases precisely because my expectations were so low.

It's one of the reasons why I really enjoyed Terminator Salvation, was because Terminator 3 shot to death my high hopes for later sequels, and I enjoy them for what they are, and not what I expected them to be based on the excellence of previous films in which, let's be honest, is rarely achieved.

I went to see Prometheus with a few friends, and I hadn't even seen a teaser or full trailer, just a quick TV spot. Zero expectations. And I had a blast, and still consider it my favorite movie of 2012.

People actually liked this movie?

Promethus was one of the shittiest movies I've ever watched.

I know it's shit but for some inexplicable reason I still like it.

don't judge me.

I'm glad they changed the name, Paradise Lost was fucking awful.

I liked it too. It was a good movie, it just wasn't an "Alien" movie.

It was basically Ancient Aliens The Movie.

I don't understand how anybody thinks the first movie was in any way good. From the plot holes, to the horrible writing, to the shitty characters.....

I'm curious why anybody thought it was any good. Please explain.

The opening scene was great and probably one of the best uses of 3D in a movie I've seen. The movie overall was poor but it did have glimmers of something more than it delivered. The concept of finding out your creators were mortal beings and going on an expedition to seek out those creators is a great premise for a film, it was just a shame 90% of the film after the opening scene was executed poorly.

I did like fassbender's robot character, he had an aura of creepy about him.

The type of Promethus sequel i would be happy with is another visually stunning movie that heads into the direction of WHO THE FUCK CREATED THE XENOMORPHS !

And why... Or if they weren't "manufactured", then where do they originate ?

And please do NOT give me the Engineers made the Xenomorph's to eliminate Mankind for not being loyal to the star gods. Because the Engineers are fucking star gods, your telling me they don't have weapons ? Wouldn't there be an easier way to eliminate mankind ?

I honestly don't know what angle i would be happy with regarding who created the Xeno's but either way people will shit all over this sequel.

And i agree. Also i really don't like the premise of Noomi Rapace and Michael Fass. just heading to the Engineer planet to "continue their journey".

Like how anti-climatic would a movie be if the whole time Noomi is trying to find the Engineers then when she does she asks them why did you create us ?

and those dudes either say "because we can" or "Naw, man we ain't about that life" .

the visuals and sci fi elements were good.

At least most of the characters from the first movie are dead. That's a great start already.

Probably as I didn't realize it was connected to Alien I didn't have high expectations and just saw it for what it was which was a fun film. Looking forwards to the sequel.

I just hope they answer the questions about the Xenomorphs. And also all the questions they raised in Prometheus. Like about that Black Goo.

Or they say "No comprende" or "Me no speak no enliso" and they will question her illegal status on the planet and prepare for her deportation.
Meanwhile, headless David will be kicked around on a soccer field in a sports match held at Space Jockey Stadium.
