What big alternative energy plans is the rest of the world moving forward on? The USA is the leader in reducing co2 emissions.

Problem with this report is the reasoning for coal plant closers is that it has become noncompetitive with natural gas plants and wind so coal plants are being closed not to reduce green house gases but for economic reasons. People who produce electricity like Duke energy and others have been fighting too keep some of their older coal fired plants running even though they cannot compete rate wise with plants that use natural gas or wind. It's because they don't want to spend millions upgrading their plants they just pass the increase costs on the consumers without upgrading.
