• Xenforo Cloud has scheduled an upgrade to XenForo version 2.2.16. This will take place on or shortly after the following date and time: Jul 05, 2024 at 05:00 PM (PT) There shouldn't be any downtime, as it's just a maintenance release. More info here

Alex Poatan and Rico Verhoven are the 2 most dangerous strikers in the world ?

Rico really hit the genetic jackpot. He has model good looks, the size of an avg sherdogger and on top of all that he is an epic chinned warrior who will give back threefold whatever you give to him.

He’s just a jacked up white boy deal with it.

No I don't think any boxer is too big of a threat to Rico in K1 rules. Not only won't they be able to deal with Rico's kicks, let alone the fact that it takes 3 to 5 good leg kicks undefended to be incapacitated, but Rico can clinch and throw knees for 3 seconds at a time when the boxer gets in the pocket.
Rico vs Whyte or Miller would be fun.

Aspinall by far hits harder than Poatan, has better head movement, and is arguably faster.

To the people who think Alex is more dangerous on the feet than Tom: Do you see a world where Adesanya or Bruno Silva are surviving flush shots from Tom Aspinall?
Lmaoooo Thomas the wank would never touch gold in kickboxing

Only because he trained MMA his whole life and not kickboxing lmao. And even then he absolutely has the tools to succeed in kickboxing.
he's tree times his size

Adesanya might explode if Big Tom lands a three hit combo

The guy put down a tank like Sergei Pavlovich like it was nothing

If Tom hits harder than Alex why does he not have the record

The record of what? Going to decision with middleweights?

Tom has finished every heavyweight he's ever fought in the UFC.
Weird mention. Aspinall's chin and cardio are still relatively unproven. I wouldn't compare him to decorated kickboxers just yet.
The prompt is "most dangerous strikers". Aspinall is more dangerous on the feet than Alex. Why are you bringing up chin and cardio?

Is a guy like Badr Hari or Melvin Mahoef not dangerous because they don't have a good chin?

And if anything Aspinall has proven to have a better chin than Pereira considering he has more fight but has never been knocked out. Whereas Alex was put out by a middleweight.

Rico more of a tactician, he has 20 KO'S in kick boxing out of 64 wins.. For a HW he doesn't have KO power.

Pereira kills mf's

In that perpendicular universe scenario you speaking of, is Tom Aspinall a MW when fighting Adesanya or Bruno Silva? And/or is Poatan a 250+ lb heavy weight when he fights Adesanya or Bruno Silva?
Pereira was a heavyweight when he fought Adesanya and Bruno. Have you seen how much weight he puts on when he rehydrates??!!

Yeah but Rico is fighting guys twice the size of Poatan. No HW limit. 300 lbers.

I don't think knocking out a few guys in MMA who also never competed in kickboxing makes you a more dangerous striker than a world class kickboxer. Pavlovich is the only striker Aspinall has KO'd and he didn't compete in kickboxing either.

Rico is basically overeem 2.0 in style in that he muscles around his opponents, but at the same time, he's not that heavy handed either, kind of a bizarre fighter.

He 6'5 and 265 lbs lol. He's a big man himself. And he not always fighting 300 lbs guys. 20 KO's out of 60 wins is very low.. Like I said he's a tactician, he values defense more than other fighters but that means sacrificing power. It's that simple. Plus some guys just know how to KO people and some no matter how much they work on technique they're never going to develop true KO power

Arlovski in his 40s was just about even on the feet with Tom. I can’t see Arlovski doing that with Poatan.

This is so patently false. He was outlanded 33 to 16 in the first round and nearly finished on the feet, before then really getting finished in the 2nd round.

Why don't you actually watch what happened. It was not close on the feet even a little bit—Arlovski landed clean maybe twice in the first.

I can’t see Arlovski doing that with Poatan.

And yet Poatan did just that with middleweight journeyman Bruno Silva.
