Yeah I'm going to strongly disagree with that, outside that crazy loss to Paul Craig he has been excellent and has shown a wide array of skills to challenge Alex.When a bunch of contenders all face each other and some also lose title fights, someone is going to come out with fewer draws and losses than the rest. That someone is Ankalaev. That makes him the number one contender, but it doesn't provide much evidence at all that he's more of a challenge for Poatan than the other contenders might be, and there's nothing special about any of his wins, nothing that reflects skills particularly likely to be effective against Poatan.
As a matter of fact, I think somebody did a poll here and it was close to 50/50 as to who would be the winner.
