Aldos road to a title shot?

No thanks just give him fun fights. I doubt dude ever fights again but Aldo deserves that McGregor rematch if anyone is gonna get it.
 
His performance against Merab only ages better.
Give him the damn title shot for no fucking reason except his legendary status and retirement fight.
The fact we can mention Aldo and title picture in 2024...says everything bout who Aldo is and has always been.

I don't think he beats a real contender. He is a 1-2 round fighter.
 
aldo’s best shot at the title is for the quality of his competitors to diminish to such a level that his current inadequacies no longer matter. at that point, why would he even want to be champ? just stay retired dude.

Time caught up with him, not the sport. A young Aldo without the wear and tear he has would still be a dominant champ at either FW or BW, and that would be the case with most ATG, especially those who went nearly a decade undefeated.

That's the type of talent and skill that transcends generations.

If anything, Aldo's run at BW after he reinvented himself as a boxer would show he was able to keep up just fine.

Exactly why anyone who wants a BW title shot should beat him or wait until he gets one. Tired of worse fighters getting title shots.
 
I don't think the UFC is gonna be motivated to give him a title shot. He already retired and they know that even if he somehow won the title, it would last long or he would retire again. They're not going to invest into that.

Absolutely, there are no free rides. Everybody puts in work, fan favorite or not.

Except if you're Colby or Stipe. I just wish more of the top guys got title shots. Especially when a title is defended once every 6 months, that means 6 months before and after between title fights. Almost once a year if you count time before and after.
 
I forgot about figgy. That's very winnable for him.

If he wins next not and beats figgy he should get the shot. Probably won't though

He should've fought Aljo instead of Ccc or TJ but instead they gave him Merab.

He's been Merabs toughest opponent during his streak too SMH
