To me its pathetic to have a fighter 0-2 title shot who's 2-2 in his last 4 fights, get a title shot. When you have 3 guys who haven't lost in a long time and looking amazing. Khamzat/Shavkat/Belal. Doesn't even feel like a sport.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way is that Colby has only been fighting the then-champion, or former champions, for the last 5 years. (I'm fibbing a little bit cause Jorge only had the BMF belt, but hey that wasn't my decision.) Beating champion level fighters means something, right? More than beating Tom Brady and Wonderboy? If Colby fought those guys you'd just say, Wonderboy is old, Brady is unproven.

I wish Colby fought more those years. Him and Jorge should have fought way earlier than they did, but they were both sitting on their asses waiting for title shots. It's a shame. But now Colby is going to fight a guy 4 years younger than him on 12-fight win streak, the current champion. Either Colby will address every issue you have with his activity and competition, or he will lose and you can celebrate because it will mean he is fading into irrelevancy. And he is statistically pretty likely to lose if you look at that stat that's been circulating about title challengers age 35+.

It will be a good fight, a good show. Belal's career won't die in 9 months. Relax.
