Alarming Facts about Colby’s recent record

Is he a draw though? Every PPV of his he has always been the B-side. I’m not convinced he’s actually a PPV draw.

the UFC has access to fighters' impact on PPVs, social media, marketing research, etc. But you think the UFC chose Covington to challenge Edwards merely because Covington supports Trump?

Colby has one of the worst resumes in UFC history for a perennial top-3 ranked fighter.

this is why he has never been on the ufc's p4p list

while you could say only champs and former champs can make it there. poirier is still on there and gaethje was on there briefly after beating ferguson

the best thing about colby's resume is that he got to a 48-47 loss against usman

TS trying to cope with the fact that his favorite striker is about to get lay and prayed
Yea but Colby beat prime Usman in the rematch imo so that goes a long way to show how good he actually is
In fairness, though most people scored it for Usman, there wasn't much agreement on what 3 rounds, so actually Colby won the majority vote on 3 out the 5 rounds. Having said that the majority also have Usman a 10-8, so the most 'right' score in this case is a draw.

But lemme take ya back in time to one of my favorite strikers. Wonderboy had a legitimate draw with Woodley (which I hold a bit higher than being up a round when your jaw gets broken) in a fight of the night performance. Then when they ran it back, Wonderboy won the sequel. Now, he didn't much win the 'fight' since he got hurt in his two lost rounds and scraped by his three won rounds, but that's still 3-2, and Ratner actually had to take one of the judges aside and explain that Woodley should not have gotten a 10-8 (when do you ever hear about judges getting flak from the commission?) So, that's another result i hold on higher regard than Colby's rematch.

Frankly, Wonderboy won 6 out of 10 rounds against Woodley. So I, like you are now, often used that as an example of where his skill ranked in the division. Then he, as the #2 guy, was booked against Masvidal who was #4 and was even #3 the week before the fight, and Wonderboy embarrassed him on the feet. (Which I hold in higher regard than Colby wrestling a #6 Masvidal off of 2 losses).

So Wonderboy's position of skill was MUCH better then than Colby's is now, in every comparable way. He wasn't 'almost on par' with the champ, he was slightly better. And he beat a better Masvidal on the rebound. Clearly proving he's of the best of the division. But still, I wasn't crying for him to get a shot as if he deserved it.

For someone who doesn't care about Colby you wrote basically an entire trilogy of novels about him just now

Colby goes for cheap promo. Just insults below the belt. So guys like him hate him and talk about him. Hate or love all create a buzz. A buzz creates promotion. That's why they want Colby next to challenge. Why not. He is good. He beat him. Usman. He looked good in both fights.

I'm 90% sure that 90% of all sherdoggers already knew all this by last Sunday morning.

These facts are not in dispute.

TS does do a fine job of cherry picking though. He does a good job of listing a subset of all pertinent facts.

I write about a lot of shit. I can write a good five minute piece on what's the correct percent milk to buy, doesn't mean it's important to me.

Also, who said I don't care about Colby? I actively dislike him and said that a lot now, so you're just making shit up.

And it's not like I wrote nothing. The words have meaning. You should check it out. 10/10 NYT best seller

I don't create buzz about Colby. I'm not posting about him on Twitter or watching YouTube videos, or buying cards to watch him lose.

I just shit on his fight ducking on Sherdog. Dana ain't checking us out here, son. You're free to talk about him

No he never beat Usman. Usman finished him by breaking his jaw in the first fight. And he won an unanimous decision in the second which includes a 10-8 round. Stop trying to rewrite history as it suits you

I don't remember what I tried to write. Yes Usman is 2:0. Some sort of auto correct mistake.

Think probably wanted to say Usman beat him in both fights but Colby looked good in booth VS the #1 and noone else beat him.

Ok it seemed like you said that Colby beat him.

And yes now people beat him, Leon beat Usman twice

He didn't fight the new ranked guys but I think safe to say Colby is worthy of top 5 status. But new guys coming up. We'll have to keep an eye on Shavkat. Things about to get shaken up. Leon as champ ect.

We're talking about him being worthy of a title shot here. He has no claim for that except DW privilege

Here's an alarming fact for you: he's a beast and he's getting the next title shot

He's clearly a top 5 talent. Belal and Shavkat earned it more but they aren't as clouty. Burns needs a streak. Colby did way better vs Usman then anyone not named Leon Edward's. C'mon you will watch you like the fight. At least we get to see it. Better then Colby not coming back. If Mas beats Burns that grudge match needs to happen vs Leon. Or Colby Vs Belal Shavkat winner.
Shavkat Belal winner can pull a Woodley and sit out till they get the shot. Things looking juicy at WW. Be happy about it.

Colby vs Leon press conf will be funny. Enjoy the ride.

Pretty sure Colby is actually quite good [...] he may not fight and prove that to you, I think it is safe to say he’s definitely at the top.

Would be nice if he proved it sometime soon, since his last win was a year ago. Wins do have an expiry date you know, especially given that the rest of the contenders are working while he is practicing lines in front of a mirror.

Let's just ignore the fact that he had two close fights with Usman that couldn't went either way

Wikipedia whores are annoying

Why even watch fights? Just study records.
