AI sucks balls

in all seriousness, AI is pretty annoying when you ask it stuff. it just mirrors whatever vibe you put in and is too agreeable. very much a yes-man.
 
Before ordering something, I wanted to read the existing Q&A from actual people who ordered the item and instead AI was taking the questions and giving answers I'm guessing came from reviews. It said some piece couldn't be removed without damaging the item, but I got it done safely.
 
I think the fact that people think that "AI Sucks" is a reflection of your ability to utilize it for what you are expecting out of it.

Sure, I can use a long stick to hammer a nail into something.
But I can also use a hammer.
Shit, even more advanced I can use a nailgun.

All 3 of the aformentioned are *tools* - HOW you use them will determine their usefulness based on the task you are trying to accomplish (and whether or not its the right tool for the job).
Just because you aren't necessarily adept in said utilization, or your application of said usage isn't yielding the desired results (that you have set an expectation for) doesn't make the tool itself 'suck'.

AI is a tool. Good or bad, useful or useless - its here and is proving quite useful for a majority of its users.
And has been for much much longer than we have been aware.

Its just now coming into mainstream usage.
 
I’ve only ever used AI once and was flabbergasted at how fucking stupid it can be. I was trying to put a nut on a bolt and couldn’t figure out the right size. All I could tell was that it was bigger than 3/8 and smaller than 7/16 so I tried to google if such a sized nut even existed and this is the retarded answer it spit out at me:

That was back in May. Ever since then I’ve basically refused to use that garbage.
 
I don't know. I use Kiro at my job almost daily, and it is great. Helps me build stuff out much faster than I ever could alone. Just depends on what AI you are using. If you are just using Google or something, and saying their AI sucks, then I would agree.

They should label all screws and drill bits as xx/64. Common denominator.

Nowadays I think chatgpt is great. Copilot is kind of alright, Gemini is poor and Grok absolutely terrible.
 
I think that many people misunderstood what AI is. How many times have I read here „yeah with AI humans will be able to source cheap energy from space“ or some similar stuff.

AI helps existing processes but won‘t invent groundbreaking science fiction stuff.

We need to understand that there is an enormous hype job behind this- thousands of billions of dollars in market cap and investments and governements went all in on this. We can‘t turn back on the bullshit.
