Yeah it‘s fucked up. On the bright side it‘s a breakthrough in the medical field. Like it helps to analyse MRTs and other results and is of tremendous help in spotting diseases. So it‘s not only bad. But I also read that AI generated text follows specific rules which are by definition not natural, which is already beginning to mess with speech patterns within some population.

I think that the problem is AI in everything beyond analytical tasks. You know how it feels weird watching AI vids, like something is off in the eyes, or speech or motion but you can‘t tell exactly why? I think this is our brain s intuition. And it can‘t be good to teach our brains to watch something which is fake as reality (as opposed to cartoons or CGI).

I've pretty much abandoned saying AI won't be able to do X, because every time I come across one caveat it turns out AI blew past it 6 months ago. It's just that the stuff we're seeing most often is closer to 12 months old tech.

I agree that lack of new data is going to be a challenge, already AI data feeds AI in training. It will definitely cause issues.

I think humans being fooled won't be a challenge in a few years though. We'll just live in a world of auto correct.

When AI generates its own humans, it's surprising/creepy how close it is to humans. But when AI does shit like this with real people, the sizable gap is much more noticeable. That video is no different to me than the millions of Bruce Lee clones from the infamous "Brucesploitation" era of kung fu movies: Vague resemblance, obviously not the real guy.
