I think if Islam beats Arman, then the only options at 155 will be Oliveira (based on ranking) or Pimblett (based on popularity/PPV sales).

Otherwise we'd be looking at Islam vs Belal superfight at welterweight, after Belal/Shavkat, assuming Belal beats Shavkat. However, I very strongly doubt we see Islam move up in weight.

Well Ramadan is coming up, plus he'll need another 3 months after to recover before he can even think about training. Throw in a 2-month training camp plus another 2-3 months of Dagestani negotiations, and it'll almost be time for another Ramadan!

He's the 2nd most active champ on the roster booked for his 9th fight in 3 1/2 years. The only champ who's more active has fought 2 guys coming off serious injuries, a 40 year old who'd just had a draw that he clearly lost, and the #8 guy who doesn't have any top 10 wins.

Funny guy. Islam last fought in early June. Not going to take him as long to fight again after the Tsarukyan rematch as you'd like to think.

IF … big IF(Armand is a legitimate threat) … if he beats arman - there truly is no deserving or interesting match at 155 … it’s Topuria or a ww challenge … makes sense to go ww as a loss to a 145 is worse then a loss to a 170

If he beats Arman, he'll have to fight Do Bronx again, which I think he wins pretty easily. After that it's 170 and beyond

He’s 1-2 wins away from a title shot, especially with numerous top contenders taking losses and guys like poirer and Gaethje on the way out.
