I have no doubt at all that Cody wants us to cheer for him.

I just find him painfully mediocre in the ring and boring in general. When he vanished to do that stupid show, I didn't even notice he was gone. He's just not that good. Not as good as his dad, not as good as his brother, and, no, not as good as The Game.

The point is that Cody's massively overinflated ego is making him think this is the greatest shit ever, and he's putting it and himself way up on the card with a convoluted angle that is actually (not ironically) fucking over everyone else that gets involved with it.

That's how he's really being a heel, see? It's different than what he thinks it is.

I found MJF boring last night to, actually. He's a very good talker, but he too often drifts into this "I'll just say the nastiest shit I can think of to get heat," instead of working up an actually good promo. Kind of like the Dudley's in ECW telling fans that they're going to hate fuck their wives (or whatever) to get boos. I think he's good enough on the mic to not need that. And after the 37th "PG Punk" reference I just wanted him to leave, rather than wanting to see him get beat up.

This. Cody make think he's clever by coming out, breaking kayfabe, and saying " guys I get it but I refuse to turn heel!" But the point is it's not entertaining and people aren't buying it. If he had the ability to turn heel he could really get the crowd invested but he's just not capable of playing a character other than his own boring self, and he tries to compensate by over booking ridiculous matches and spots.

Loved the show this week. Another show packed with good stuff. A couple of things were meh, but whatevs.

Bryan vs Dark Order guy was very good. Bryan heeling it up a storm. I did chuckle when he ran from Silver.

Punk vs that Moriarty dude was good. MJF with the killer barbs afterwards. I lol'd at the Hanukkah suit.

Wardlow murdered a dude. Finished him with the powerbombs! Somebody in AEW must be reading my posts!

The Gunn Club are the worst example of rasslin' nepotism I have seen in some time. They have nothing. Bland and generic. Billy Gunn's hair is weird as well. Sting's face paint was cool.

Chuckled at Taz's Steiner Math tribute.

The Taz/Rush segment was weird. Seemed quite unnecessary. Nothing happened?

Ruby vs Kris was very good. It is remarkable to me the progress the AEW women's division has made since the days of Freddie Mercury lady and bad mime lady.

Main event was crazy. Andrade needs to learn how to bring a table into the ring. Fucked it up twice! Finish was insane. The Cody heel teases continue. Still think they're gonna do the right thing.

Plus, Kurt actually had things to be rightfully egotistical about. He won a gold medal with a damned broken neck! And he was probably the best worker in the ring and also the baddest guy in the locker room in a shoot.

Cody's claim to fame is that his dad was charismatic and he has the worst tattoo since Borck.

Edit: Actually, Cody can/should be egotistical about the fact that AEW is only a thing because he got sick of playing Stardust. That's something he hasn't mentioned but I hope he breaks out soon.

Cowboy Shit ain’t doing it for me, Brother. Terrible on commentary and on mic with Danielson. Put the belt on Danielson, who is a great bout machine. Protect Cowboy by having Dark Order fuckery make him lose the belt. Coach up Page plus have Dark Order v Dark Order program.

He sounds so weak willed and milquetoast on commentary. It's weird, Nut. Someone with his gimmick, move set and good looks should be better than this. He needs an edge. Bring the damn noose back and beat the shit out of people with it or something. Hangman is a cool gimmick, get a little dark with it when needed. They can use Danielson to give him an edge if they are smart.
