This wasn't a traditional "end the weekly TV storylines" PPV and Blood N Guts isn't traditional weekly TV.
If it's on the weekly TV show then it's weekly TV. If they want it to be something separate then put it on ppv or a different night.

Or they could have special episodes with special names and do what they want.

There's no written "rules" of pro wrestling that state wrestling companies must abide by some paint by the numbers schedule.

There's shows on the USA Network you might enjoy if you only want to be spoon fed old archaic systems that don't take risks and change it up.

“you abused me when i was a young boy…” godly commentary line from the opener

also great o’khan’s sell of beretta’s tornado DDT was incredible lol only two matches in so far

goddamn the crowd was HOT early. the 1, 2, 3 on the very predictable FTR win was LOUD.

i told u dudes the 1st aew x japan supershow would be great.
what a ppv!

Great event regardless.

Lotta folks were feeling kinda hohum going into it with all the injuries and adjustments to the card but it was incredible from the pre-show until the very end.

@Max Power, you're gonna want to check out Forbidden Door.

I skimmed the results earlier so it's unlikely I'd watch. I always base whether I'll watch a ppv based on the build rather than the chance of good matches. I pretty much assumed there would be good "5 star matches" and the like. Happy to hear that so many here and elsewhere enjoyed it.

It was a fantastic show, not a single match was bad. Despite all the injuries or people not there, and not much buildup for most of them there was a bit of everything, just some really good action top to bottom. I like how everyone got a chance to have their moments, like Shooter doing well or Conners putting Miro through a table and getting chants. I’m sure the NJPW guys were happy to hear a crowd cheering for the first time in ages. It was well paced and never felt like it dragged for too long

Only things I wished were different- the co main was anticlimactic, i know Cole was injured so I get it though. If Okadas last rainmaker attempt hypothetically connected it would have made things much less awkward. Mox blading after a sling blade lmao. I love Cesaro, wanted him to win and he’s a great addition to BCC, but his theme sucks and sounds like Christmas music. Minor things aside it was a great few hours of wrestling. I’d give it 5 stars, 6 in the Tokyo Dome

i loved this show because it had a good amount of everything and good reason for it happening.

technical
flippy shit
strong style
brawling
comedy

thank you AEW and NJPW for finally coming together to give us an emotional rollercoaster of an evening.

i love pro wrestling!
