He pretty much always goes on earlier now

Thats bizarre to me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he has the biggest contract of the entire roster and is one of the biggest draws, so I'm curious whats behind the decision to put him on so early in the show.

Could be he just wants to go home early.

Might want to get crowd reactions in case they burn out later.

Might not want to follow other matches on the card.

Might be adjusting for his opponent's fan perception (Roddy isn't really a main event guy right now).

If any of these are true, it really shows how Tony is allowing the crazies are running the asylum.

Just watched Mone/Statlander, and it looks like Mone has found her grove in AEW but it certainly took a while. Damn good match, the only issue was the partially botched finish. Statlander is larger than the average womens wrestler and she's even stronger than she looks.

Brock was one the top draws and highest paid and consistently went on first. MJF probably wants to go home.

Ibou is right, this shit is stupid. Garcia just won the belt then talked about respecting the belt that Cody Rhodes, Brodie Lee, Adam Copeland, and Christian made prestigious only for Jack Perry to disrespect, then Garcia immediately announced he was entering the CC to chase a different belt, which basically puts the TNT title on ice for 6 weeks. Garcia basically buried the TNT title at the scrum lol

Bald is a moron.

Does it mean the world champion is weak when they lose in the G1? Round robin tournaments are a different thing. Losses are expected at some point, and going undefeated is near impossible.

Does it devalue any other title in NJPW when a new champion is crowned at Dominion then the next month they're in the G1 taking losses?

I think the actual problem here is the prize of the Continental Classic. It should be a trophy not a title to be defended.

Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Kazuchika Okada, Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay, and now Swerve Strickland after his recently extension are supposedly the highest paid in the company. Kenny Omega and Hangman Page also supposedly signed some massive extensions last year as well. MJF did get a big contract extension where he's up there with some of those people mentioned, but he ain't the highest paid.

I think the G1 and the CC are much different because of the prize.

The prize of the G1 is a shot at the World Championship. When the World Champion loses during the G1 it's how they book people getting shots at the World Championship between the end of the G1 and Wrestle Kingdom. Every wrestler is obviously gunning for a shot. When the World Champion takes 1 or 2 losses during their 9 matches it creates booking for 4 months and elevates other guys to main events.

The prize of the Continental Classic is a Championship that is lower tier than the Championship that Garcia currently holds. Nobody is getting elevated by beating Garcia in the tournament, even if they get a shot at Garcia's title after the tournament, Garcia just ain't that guy right now where a win over him matters, even with him being a Champion. I don't think Garcia is even gonna get elevated in this tournament, I think he leaves the tournament in the same exactly place he is now.

I think Garcia would've been better off defending his belt every week and having guys gun for his Championship, especially after he cut that promo at the scrum talking about bringing respect back to the title, instead Garcia's newly won TNT title is now on ice for 6 weeks.

I feel like the only belt that actually gets defended in this company is the International Championship <lmao>

Me too. That's what the TNT title should be.

Cody was challenging people from other companies to step up to the TNT Champ!

Adam Copeland even defended it 6 times in 8 weeks after he won it.

Meanwhile Garcia thinks he's too good to even defend it for 6 weeks right after winning it though?

All he cares about is banging rats, BG!

By the way, when was Adam Copeland last on AEW? Did he ever have a match with Christian?

Saw that Saraya is taking some time off. I'm shocked they haven't bothered to put her in a storyline with Mercedes Mone. Lots of history between those two.

Adam Copeland is currently injured. He had two good matches with Christian and I thought the whole feud was great

He broke his legs (knees) jumping off a cage and trying to land on his feet.

He’s still goons heal faster than Adam Cole though.

Turns out enough people complaining on the internet seems to work sometimes.
