I think with MJF and Swerve getting time off and Danielson uncertain with neck surgery he needs I think this whole Mox/Darby thing is a way to strap a rocket to Darby and make him the top babyface.

He beats Danielson at GS with help from Mox and co although he doesn't want it. Danielson leaves then throughout the winter we get Darby feuding with Mox leading to a huge match up between the two at Full Gear or Worlds End which Darby finally gets a win over Mox. Then when Danielson comes back, Darby gives him a title shot where he beats Danielson clean.
