AEW AEW CXXV: Up In Flames

Dirtsheets are saying AEW might both stay on TNT/TBS as well as get a show on Fox. Apparently the AEW Shockwave trademark they filed was for a possible Fox show.

Would line up with WBD teaming with Fox and ESPN for that new sports streaming service.
It doesn't make sense for a broadcast ad supported show. I guess if it's just more content for a streaming service, maybe.

Wonder if Rampage or Collision is gonna get the axe, would be pretty wild if they have 4 shows on TV.

If Shockwave is another hour show a level below the two hour shows like Rampage is, I can see this working.

Yes its a lot of content, but in the early 2000s WWF would have two lower level shows that would be taped around Raw and Smackdown. Raw had Heat and then Smackdown would have Jakked/Metal and later Velocity.

One change I would recommend though and would bring more in line with WWF in the early 2000s, is have the lower level hour shows taped before the two hour shows. This would be a positive as well because you can then have a dark match main event after Dynamite/Collision that you can use to promote locally and sell tickets.

This Dave quote had my brain swimming

The deal has been essentially agreed to as far as WBD [are concerned], and there may be other stuff as well, and when it will be announced...it'll be announced. But the deal's done. The deal is, I don't want to say done, but it's done. The WBD deal is basically done.

Not enough 'Ummm' and 'The thing is' and sentences that start and just stop half way through like he's suddenly had an aneurysm for it to be a genuine Meltzer quote.

While this will be a damn good hard hitting match, again another case of the secondary shows being used to build a random 1 off. At least it'll get some more eyes on Queen but I would have liked to see her get solid wins while building her up long term.

I can't even see if this has been posted previously cause all of the pop ups lol so my bad if it has

In line with what I expected then.

Seems like a lot of content but if its 2001 WWF then its Dynamite = Raw, Collision = Smackdown, Rampage = Heat and Shockwave = Velocity.

Need to tape the B shows first though like WWF would do back in the day. Start utilising dark match main events to sell tickets.

Andrew Zarian who works for both WON and Fightful is saying AEW's new WBD deal is signed.

Said Dynamite, Collision, Rampage, and PPV's will also be on MAX.

Said network exclusive is over and is saying Fox wants an AEW show because they have an entire inventory of ads they need to allocate somewhere and Smackdown cost them more than the ads brought in.

Andrew Zarian is also the guy that said AEW signed a deal for their shows to be on MAX like 2 and a half years ago, so obvious grain of salt.
