AEW announced tickets on sale on December 15th for out here in Phoenix on February 7th. They were here on February 22nd last time. Guess this is a once a year market. Last time here they sold 8k tickets, but that was before the ticket price raising fiasco. I'm actually curious to see how they configure the building and how much tickets are going to cost. I'm gonna laugh if they double the ticket prices and configure for less than 5k.

How much did you pay?
We paid 100-120 bucks per seat here in March and July.

Curious to see prices for May.

I paid a total of $200 for 4 great lower bowl seats and that was after fees. So basically after everything, $50 a person.

Just go ahead and have Briscoe, Lethal, & Jarrettt win the trios titles.. they’d at least be seen more than they currently are that way.

Fuck. I wish.

I have a feeling I won't be getting that deal next time <Lmaoo>

I'm gonna be hitting up my good friends at VetTix for some freebies and sit wherever the fuck they put me if Tony Khan decides to go crazy with inflation here like he did in other places.

Scrolling Twitter just now and came across this. Two shows, same building, 5 months a part. 6500 last time, configured for 4600 next time in a hot wrestling market like New Jersey. A year ago they did 12k in that building and were being roasted about the 6500 a few months ago and now they've shrunk even more. Is it ticket prices? It's weird how things dried up that quickly.

Blows my mind. We did about 5500 here in July and it was a boisterous crowd.
I hope it's around the same, cause small crowds in large arenas suck balls.

CLEAN UP YOUR ACT, TONY

Does anyone actually give a shit about this guy, or the other one?
burh even his team mate who was his only chance of making a living in the industry doesnt give a fuck about him

Real question. Do we think Tony is satisfied with these numbers? I don't understand why they keep booking large-capacity venues when attendance is shrinking at every turn. Is he ignoring advice to book smaller buildings or lower ticket prices? Is there nobody telling him this, but are just glad-handing him and telling him that everything is OK?

I don't understand this at all.

Santana & Ortiz had a lot of momentum at one point, in the Inner Circle, but naturally Tony Khan was blind to it and just stuck to whatever it was that he wanted to see.

Sucks to see that Santana may be a bit of a drama queen, because for whatever reason Khan can't give Ortiz something else to do.

Would just release some of these ornery folks.. Starting with Jeff Hardy, then Matt Hardy, Parker Fuckface, Santana, Miro, CJ Perry, FTR, Abadon, Komander, etc.

Also, would get Leila Grey, Kiera Hogan, Serena Deeb, Josh Woods, Scorpio Sky, and Ethan Page a bit more featured. Although it looks like All Ego may be getting such.

The gates have been bigger despite lower ticket sales due to increased ticket prices.

If money is the goal, he’s satisfied.

2023 has been AEW’s biggest year financially despite drawing way less people to buildings.

It feels like WWE from 2016 to 2020, they were tarping off 3/4 of buildings every taping, yet increasing revenue every year. They might feel like if the money rolls in, the strategy must be working.

My best guess is it is the allure and prestige of being in the bigger venues. Sure you aren't selling them out, but you are still there. Any normal dude can bang a 5, this has to count for getting a terrible hand job from an 8.

Plus, money laundering.

There's deifntley something to that as well. Coming from an NBA arena in a large market has a different feel to it than a civic center in a B town. Even if it's not sold out

Wonder what makes them pick the massive buildings, but only in certain markets. When they go to Philly for example they still always go to the smaller arena at Temple University instead of 76ers NBA arena and they do well. They sell like 5500 tickets there and the building looks packed, they just did it a few weeks ago in October and it looked great. Why isn't AEW booking the 76er's arena and tarping off a bunch of it?

They go to Duluth, GA instead of State Farm Arena in Atlanta, sell 5000 tickets there and the building looks packed. Why isn't AEW going to Atlanta and tarping off State Farm Arena? They did one show at State Farm in the early days of AEW and haven't gone back, Duluth became their ATL area home.

There has to be more to the story on why this is only a thing in certain markets.

Wonder if they get a discount running these bigger arenas in certain markets or something? Maybe the arenas just want more shit booked there and let AEW run them for cheap?
