She's apparently going to play Voldemort on HBO in another diversity swap. She's like the poster child for Hollywood diversity hires, with all the white women gaslighting her that's she's beautiful and "amazing."

Depends on the role. He's no John Rambo for sure, but not all leading men are physically imposing. I won't mind seeing him anywhere except action. One of my grudges with The King was that Timothy is incapable of wearing real armour, he is too frail and weak. It is evident in how he moves, his legs are just weak. But he did fine in the dramatic parts. I still find the movie to be utter shite, but it's not his fault.

I saw The King. He was too skinny for that role.

This is what I was thinking of when I made the thread. Great mention. 100% agreed. She's an incredible singer, no doubt about it, she has the stuff as a voice...but only as a voice. Idina Menzel (a co-star in Wicked) has a voice like that. Like so many other great singers, she worked mostly in obscurity her whole career. Ironically, Idina showed off 10x the acting chops in her short role in Uncut Gems, and she's 100x easier on the eyes.

Another great mention from the first page. I was surprised Spielberg borked his leading actress so badly. It was embarrassing for the casting director how badly she was outshined by Ariana Debose in the West Side Story remake-- on every level: acting, dancing, singing, looks, charisma. There's always going to be scene stealers and incredibly talented people who are a better fit for the supporting role, but your lead actress shouldn't be getting outclassed that badly.

i read it as someone who is trying to be made a star, im guessing shes been a huge star longer than youve been alive.

She does have singing chops - I'll give her that. I just think she's very cringe in interviews and literally looks like Nosferatu.

We want to see beautiful women in movies and TV, but I think a whole bunch of ugly ass fat women in executive positions have an in built bias against it.

Women generally hate other beautiful women because in evolutionary terms, they're a threat to them. So they turn around and gas up mediocre or even ugly women as "beautiful." Comes off as very condescending to me.
 
the movie industry is the same as the music industry.
most real talent, isnt part of mainstream movies or music.

most of these people are related and got to where they are threw nepotism.
case in point, think of all the modern people like katy perry, taylor swift....none of these fuckign muppets have an ounce of actual talent. they are surrounded by people who produce their music,. you think they actually have any creative control as to what they are pushing out? lol

both industries were litereally created as a form of manipulation/social engineering/brainwashing/influence

neither have anything todo with the actual art of FILM or MUSIC
