Actors/Actresses Hollywood thinks have got "it", but...don't

Stop trying to make Pedro Pascal happen
I think with him it's just bad casting.

It seems like they lack an understanding of putting actors in who make sense for the roles. Just because he worked for role A doesn't mean he's a fit for role B.

Also, Timothee Chalamet is not a leading man.

Sorry for the derail @Madmick

This girl... from the worst Marvel movie and they are still trying to shove down our throats

i loved her in midsommar and dont worry darling, i hear she;s good in the wwe film about paige's life too.

I don't care for rasslers like Batista or Cena, or even The Rock on film - although he was great in the Smashing Machine apparently. They're ok in small doses but they shouldn't be given more than a few lines in movies IMO.

For about a decade they kept trying to push marky mark as a star. One of the worst actors to ever get so many leading roles.

Pete Davidson was popping up in movies for a while too and that was always disappointing. Terrible comedian, terrible actor, just the least entertaining person alive.

This is Glen Powell for me 100.

I think him talentless – or milquetoast 'just there' boy fairer said – but can tell we'll be seeing heaps more of him because he's being put in all gamut of genres from Netflix romcom to monster-budget dramas like Top Gun II.

He has neither the leading man charm nor charisma he thinks he does. I wouldn't say a negative word about him if he'd stayed in support roles because he's fine as an 'O, yeah, that guy' char.

You forgot to say innit!

Jennifer Lawrence. She's pretty enough but not Hollywood levels of gorgeous and she seems like just a random girl...not much in terms of charisma/star power. They've only been promoting her because of feminist reasons since she was a 'kick ass' character in The Hunger Games.

I actually liked him in Chad Powers where he plays an undercover QB in college. He has some decent comedy chops. But yeah he doesn't have leading man charisma.

Fair and I liked him in Maverick fine, TBH. I've picked up lately on Hollywood lead-manning him is all and I don't think he has it. I'm sure he'll go on to make bank and think himself the bee's knees but he won't carry any film for me the way Brad Cooper or Brad Pitt can, to name two who mix it up across comparable genres.

He's got a good look but the charisma of wet sand.

I don't even know who that is and I've seen the new Jurassic films. He can't be that prominent if I don't know his name or recognize him from anything ever. I mean, I hate Rhys Ifans but I was never inundated with him. There's a difference between people you think suck and people who Hollywood thinks are (potentially) amazing and (potentially) stars. Maybe I really am this out of touch, but at least the other folks getting mentioned in here are well-known. You just hate this dude so much you had to make a thread to get it out. As someone whose hate also burns hot, I respect that 😆
I listed his biggest projects in the OP.

He's more of a bit player in the Jurassic films, sort of a spiritual heir of Samuel L. Jackson's character, in some ways, but he's one of the key cast members in the other three with oodles of screentime.

Check out the reported movie budgets:
$465m = Jurassic World: Dominion (<-- the 2nd most expensive movie ever made)
$465m = Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (<-- the 3rd most expensive movie ever made)
$150m = Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
$150m = Pokemon: Detective Pikachu
$90m = Now You See Me, Now You Don't
