Must be the son of Craig Jones.
Craig Joneson.
Craig Joneson.
Strongly disagree. The B Team did really good at Adcc and ADCC trials. Nicky Rodriguez and his younger brother went really far after only training bjj for a few years. Before Craig even joined Danaher he took Gordon Ryan to OT in a match and practically broke his arm. Lachlan Giles also got silver at Adcc. That team is really good and I have a feeling they've prepared Alex for this fight.Who you train with us largely irrelevant as long as you have some decent sparring partners.
Till proved this by spending a year with Khamzat and then looking like a worse wrestler than before.
More like the equivalent of an ignoramus combining the name of a martial art style from Thailand with the word for "teacher" in Japanese.this is the equivalent of finding a muay thai sensei in alabama.
Is the goal to turn Volk into a BJJ wizard in a few months who can submit Islam? I think he'd have been better off training with a high-level wrestler, especially one experienced in MMA.Won six championships. Never drew a dime.
Till didn't train with Khamzat in his last fight and I don't think he did for the Brunson fight either. Apparently he also has an injured knee as well. Read this in a Khamzat interview earlier this week.Who you train with us largely irrelevant as long as you have some decent sparring partners.

Except this isn't ADCC and even some of the top competitors there are pretty mediocre when it comes to pure wrestling. Again, is the idea to turn Volk into a submission wizard in record time? His main goal is to avoid TDs and get back to his feet as soon as possible. Is this the best guy to teach him that?Strongly disagree. The B Team did really good at Adcc and ADCC trials. Greg Johnson to fight Islam on the ground. Who is this Greg Johnson?
EDIT:

Yeah, and King Mo went around training with K-1 guys, top BJJ guys and even Mayweather's camp for boxing. It didn't help him very much. He'd have been better off at a good MMA school. (I think he finally did join AKA but it was near the end of his career and he was pretty old by then). You have to learn the nuances of MMA, transitions, defending punches on the ground (pure wresters and pure BJJ guys don't deal with that), avoiding TDs while also defending yourself from punches/kicks (pure kickboxers don't deal with that), etc.Who you train with us largely irrelevant as long as you have some decent sparring partners.

You are the MVP of this thread.Craig jones
Craig Benjamin Jones (born July 17, 1991) is an Australian grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt competitor and coach. An IBJJF world No-Gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion as a purple belt, Jones is a two-time ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship silver medallist and a three-time Polaris Pro Grappling champion. Jones trains out of Austin, Texas & is the head of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu.
No that's not the main goal. I think Volk knows the fight is going to go to the ground. He wants to defend as much as possible and not get caught in one of Islam's squeezes. Islam doesn't choke hes so strong he squeezes the fuck out of you. City Kickboxing are already experts at avoiding going to the ground but Makachev is so good he realized it might happen so he brought in Craig Jones to help him survive in case plans A B and C failExcept this isn't ADCC and even some of the top competitors there are pretty mediocre when it comes to pure wrestling. Defending subs is part of it, but it's just as likely he could get pounded out or simply controlled on the ground for a UD. So he's basically getting 33% out of 100% of the possible bad outcomes covered if it goes to the ground. No that's not the main goal. I think Volk knows the fight is going to go to the ground. Then who would you recommend? If we're talking grappling you can't go wrong training with Craig Jones.Defending subs is part of it, but it's just as likely he could get pounded out or simply controlled on the ground for a UD. I didn't even know. The same Craig Jones who got schooled in his own art by MMA fighter Sean Brady?
Well, I don't know if TS is a troll or not. I suspect he is since there's no source.
But 20 seconds of googling got me this https://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Greg-Johnson-45962
But Wiki says no, that's not the guy that quadruple amputee Kyle Maynard beat in MMA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Maynard
So if this is a long con troll job that TS started 14 years ago for a moment just like this, all I can say is...kudos, sir.
Or....different Kyle Maynard.
