I will never understand how someone can abuse an animal. It's seriously the most disheartening thing ever.

I guess because i grew up on a farm i dont understand this obsession with drawing a distinction for dog and cat from all other animals. Its really sad when any animal is abused.

At least such a thing exists for dogs. Do you where cows go? Not trying to dispell the suffering your dog went through but just giving a broader picture at hand that animals generally arent treated very well. Dogs despite cases like this are by far luckier than most other animals.

They go to work at McDonalds. We all know where beef comes from, don’t pretend you know something special about livestock because it’s pretty clear you don’t. Animals are as individual as people in their mannerisms. It isn’t always a reflection of how it was handled. I halve a calf now that was nearly bat shit crazy when it was a month old. There was no reason, that’s just the way she was. Her mom is one of my calmest cows, and could be passed off as a pet she’s so tame. And if she took a trip to the stock yard, and some day she probably will, she’d be just as calm there. I’ve spent my entire life around animals, my experience isn’t limited to what I read on the internet. You’re beliefs as to how animals act and think are incorrect.

And just to be clear, I’m not suggesting that abusing any animal is okay. It’s not. But just because I don’t coddle my cattle doesn’t mean they’re abused.

Thats great but it seems clear to me you dont understand why cattle get upset when they leave the farm.

I didnt suggest they would be upset in that situation because they were abused. Theyre upset because theyre no longer on the farm, traveled uncomfortably to the stockyard, separation from their herd and a strange person wants to seperate them further. Dogs and cats become stressed for the exact same reasons at pounds. They are removed, confined in an unknown location by unknown people to unknown fate.

Cattle getting abused is a seperate issue to that.
