Abused dog is stroked for the first time

Was that Banchan with the dog and it assumed it was going into a pot?

I adopted an abused dog once. It was a pain in the ass because he kept pooping and peeing in the house whenever he got scared. And he got scared constantly. Every little noise, every time you made a sudden movement, every time you stood up.

And you couldn't train him at all for the first year or so. It took almost 2 years before he'd even act like a semi normal dog.

I mean I'm glad I did it, but honestly I won't ever get an abused dog again. I've done my one good deed for this lifetime.

People need to realized how much more difficult it is owning an abused dog over a normal one. It's a huge commitment and takes a lot of the fun out of owning a dog. Again, not saying you shouldn't do it, but just know what you're signing up for.

On your farm, there was no dinstinction drawn, like say you didn't eat the dogs and cats?
I meant i dont distinguish one animals suffering to be greater than another.

And no we do not eat our dogs.

80 percent of the world treats other people like that. Not too hard to imagine how this could happen to animals since they have literally no rights in comparison.

I hope you're erring on the high side, I'd hate to think there are truly that many cruel people.in the world.

I used to think you were a decent poster but then i realized you just copy and paste and have no independent thought of your own.

Going to hug my dogs when I get home. They both are rescues.

Of course. I like animals. But consider that very few animals in the world are dog and cat and the few protections and compassions in this world given to animals it is mostly for dog and cat in the western world. Thats a very small margin of animals in the grand scheme of things.

I'm pretty liberal for the most part but if I had my way people who get their kicks torturing animals would get an automatic death penalty. It's not a popular opinion but I'd happily pay the electricity bill.

Did you know this doesnt apply to just dogs? If you went to a stock yard right now and picked any cow out of thousands it will be afraid to leave with you.

Many, many people are monsters. They're just good at hiding it.

I guess because i grew up on a farm i dont understand this obsession with drawing a distinction for dog and cat from all other animals. Its really sad when any animal is abused.

Yes it is and the stark reality that most people simply flat out refuse to accept is that we are all animal abusers. Some of us just pay others to do the dirty work. Something to think about....

People are very good at reasoning compassion when they want to and be totally void of it when they dont want to care. Even serial killers and psychopaths have people they like and generally care for.

One thing I've found is people living their lives on the right side of the tracks tend to underestimate the evil in the world. Rape, physical abuse, torture, molestation of children, killing animals, having them fight for sport, etc etc.

The vast majority of men I've known were abused growing up, and have emotional problems now. Almost every girl I've ever known well was either raped or sexually molested. Rampant mental illness and ptsd from all the memories of abuse, etc. And people always say I'm cynical. Nah motherfucker, I'm just a realist. I've seen what people are and what they will do when there is no fear of punishment or accountability.

A much higher percentage of people than most would believe are absolute monsters.

In the last year or so i have become a bit afraid to leave my house. I guess unless it happens to you the preference is to think there is more good in the world than bad.

This reminded me of the couple who moved into the sticks to live off the grid and were determined to have free range chickens and pigs. Their animals were disappearing. The people trying to help told them they have to fence their animals and the couple was adamant on the free range concept. They had to be shown that hawks will take their chickens if they don't have a covered place to keep them. Chickens can at least be kept coming back for food. Pigs will go find their own food and sows will hide their litters because the bore will kill the piglets.
