Media Abdelaziz reveals that UFC tried for another 324 main event, they asked Islam who got stopped by Khabib

Pretty sure Usman understands his chances and realizes it's more of a huge payday than a chance to reign at the top of the division.

He just wants a paycheck. He even said so recently in a tweet.

"It's a huge pay day for both of us"

They've spoken about this since 2022.

You sound emotional about this... and no I don't want to argue lol

Just take a step back and think about this professional sport.

He booked him because managers do what their clients ask. It's part of their job.

Ali can share his input or try to talk Frankie out of it but it's ultimately the client's decision regarding their life and career.

Just like people tried to talk Tyson (including Dana White) out of fighting Jake Paul - but he still did it anyway.

Should we crucify Tyson's manager too? LOL

These are grown ass men. Do you know Italians from Jersey? LOL

Ali and Frankie have been tight since forever and still remain tight. Pause.

Like I said in my previous statement - you can speculate and make assumptions.

His fighters say the truth:

Squeezing out every last bit of Money these aging men on the decline can provide.

What a friend.

Frankie sure is lucky to have the kind of friend that will help him get that 4th consecutive KTFO loss.

Lol. You spinning this tale in a crowded bar while Islam owned Jack D was probably hilarious to listen to. I bet you got a few theories about the Jews as well.
Are you OK sir? You sound like you have mental issues. Literally, no sane person goes to the places you go.

Cool that you're likely an anti semite though. Congrats on being a piece of shit

Both these guys' careers have been calculated to the max. Every decision they make, has a lot of thought behind it and they always try to find the path of least resistance when it comes to their paths to titles. As few legit grapplers as possible, especially top notch wrestlers
No argument from me that these guys are extremely calculated when it comes to their careers but you could also call it just being smart when one misstep could be detrimental to a fighters career.

Who are all these top notch wrestlers that Islam supposedly avoided, though? He was supposed to fight Dariush but Beneil pulled out. He’s beat Arman once already and was supposed to rematch him but Arman pulled out. He submitted Oliveira. Gamrot’s never managed to put together a good enough streak to get a TS. Who am I missing?

I actually have far less issues with Islam than I had with Khabib and fully believe that Islam has the better career at this point.

They've mostly just been IMO lucky to be in the 155 division instead of 170 where far more wrestling-based top fighters were. The majority of LW has been strikers forever, with Islam, Khabib and Arman being mostly the wrestlers. I really think someone like Eddie Alvarez should have got a shot at Khabib, personally. Would have been cool to see him fight a scrappy guy with actual wrestling like Eddie, although his isn't great, he still had all the intangibles to make the fight interesting, IMO moreso than Justin, Dustin or Conor.

I don't like that in his final bout, Khabib wasn't even a LW anymore, clearly wasn't 155 and we're just ok with people weighing them pretending video footage doesn't tell the real story or that he clearly wasn't 155. The majority of people are just ok with this too, while vilifying others for missing weight.

In the case of Islam, I would have just rather seen him fight Arman before moving up and fighting the IMO, much, much much better stylistic matchup for him. It was no shocker to me that he schooled JDM and won a decision. I posted that here that he would prior to the matchup. It's Arman's fault though at the end of the day for this one.

My opinion on it is, they look at the landscape of the division before making their decision on things. How many or who specifically may they have to run into that could be tough matchups for them.

It's just moreso a shame that there seems to be so few good wrestlers at the top of 155 or 170 these days except guys that are basically on their team lol

He seems grateful... like the rest of them.

So I see no cause for concern. We are all grown men out here.

Tony Ferguson shouldn't be fighting, but he is. His manager must be the worst too.

You're mixing feelings with professionalism.

I think the fanbase just doesn't like how sleazy he is.
Yea that's what it is.

That's fair too - after all they are public figures.

All I know is that if I was an MMA Manager - my concern is how my clients aka fighters feel about me - not the opinons of strangers.

Yea, like how dare Islam's coach give him wise counsel? :derp:

There are no easy wins at WW. It'd be stupid to shortchange himself and lose the title he just won over lack of preparation.

Just bleeds gon just bleed.

His opponent has the same time to prepare.

These guys don't need MONTHS to get ready for a fight.

The NFL coaches/players can game plan for 3 squads, 53+ players and 60 minutes of action against new opponents every week.

A ridiculous conspiracy theory utterly missing the context and actual timing of their careers.

Well thats how it 100% work in these regions, u do what u are told to do. Thats why often they dont even know that they are using even if they do...cuz coach said that "its just" vitamin. If u question something - punishment.

Tho i kinda like Makhachev more than other dagis. He seems to question some things and seek outside info, which Khabib never did.

LMAO right in the west we never have coaches push drugs to their athletes. I mean that's literally been the defense for multiple American Olympian athletes, but hey, Jiri's jockstrap knows better.

There is difference between some coaches and whole representation/country including caught kids. They have/had literall national doping plan…and their doctors were changing samples through holes walls. Their whole country was banned from olympics even before war because of it u idiot.

Btw Jiri’s jockstrap? U braindead clown which know complete shit do not drag me into ur gay bullshits, mainly after u write down that kind of bullshittery u lobotom.

He wishes. I think the recent threads about Jiri's wife getting pregnant have spurred on a lot of jealousy
Another lobotom which never won single argument because he is stupid as f. 😀

Btw if i remember corectly and my memory is freaking good. U expected Volkan to Ko Jiri 5 years ago, and also expected Ankalaev to be basically goat. So next time just stay quiet.
