News ABC Conference (Commissions Meeting) ; New MMA Rules Proposed, Discussions on judgings, etc.

More to come

The Association of Boxing Commissions (ABC) is set to convene for its annual summit July 22-27 at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the organization announced Friday.

The first two days of the conference will consist of referee and judge classes. Meetings will run the final three days with topics such as potential rule changes, medical practices, sports policies, safety issues and committee updates under discussion.

It really shows how lame MMA is in a way

You have people who know nothing who make the rules that make the sport boring compared to what it would be without these rules

Legalizing knees to grounded opponent would make fights more exciting for sure.

Knees to a damn grounded opponent, yellow cards for stalling and get rid rid of the stupid win bonus.
You guys are weird. You complain the fighters don’t get paid enough but yet you want the UFC to get rid of a bonus that can help lower paid fighters.

You have the term "win bonus" a bit messed up, there is no real win bonus other than POTN bonus, the "win bonus" is getting 100% of your purse, as opposed to usually 50% in defeat, that seems to be the rule for the average fighters, specially those on the lower end.

Im guessing they want that gone, as in getting 100% of their purse no matter the outcome of the fight, unless, you were trolling.

Im thinking its for the broadcast sir.
Why would the athletic commissions care about the TV broadcast? If a promotion wants all its fighters to wear black neoprene sleeves they can do that.

<DisgustingHHH>

I don't care about this shit.

Where's foot stomps, soccer kicks, and knees to a downed opponent?
<{jackyeah}><{JustBleed}>

Just posted new grounded rule definition, these two changes are minor but it's just the start. I'll keep it updated
The new wording seems worse and more open to fighter manipulation really hope it doesn't pass.

Imagine the debates fighter A "I kicked him because those finger tips were not weight bearing" fighter b "I was holding so much weight with that hand as I was off balanced" herb dean "... panic"

Andy Foster solving the real problems... the color of the fighters' sleeves.

Any part of the body, other sole of feet
<mma4>

It's like the UFC rule book was translated by the same folks that translate instructions for all the shit I buy off Amazon.

Reactions: Yep
Can't believe all this useless shit is being discussed, do these people get paid by someone for this bullshit?

One looking better and better by the moment.

The question has been answered in the thread, I was just spit balling.

Just use pride rules, judging and gloves. Man UFC just don't get it lol

But no deduction of purse on the cards.

Honestly,though They will never do yellow cards in the US. Never. It would only highlight the inconsistency of the reffing even worse,and it takes it out of the fighters hands even more. Bad enough,fighters lose half their pay on shitty judging,but now 3 cards and your dq'd?

Imagine seeing Conor foul khabib 20 times in their fight and herb dont give no yellow cards?

Im against open scoring. I hope they dont do it.
