Two of the very best in today's game.

Both deserving MVPs.

Who played the game better during the season?

Not sure why we need to compare the two. But Ohtani did something no one has ever came close to doing before, and won a title. Pretty easy answer.

It is a pretty easy answer, but Ohtani isn't the winner.

Not sure why would we compare the two? It seems obvious to compare the two best MVPs who are hitters.

Questions like this could easily be answered if the MLB had an overall league MVP. Baseball is weird.

Yes, Judge had better batting numbers. Not enormously better, but better.
Ohtani created an entire new entry in the record books. In 5 years, no one will remember or care what Judge's BA was this year. People will always remember Ohtani being the first ever to get 60/60.

Probably the guy who doesn't drop routine fly balls. <lmao>

Nah. Shit like that doesn't matter. That's like caring about Westbrook becoming the first man in the post-merger era to average a triple double. Arbitrary, meaningless incidences. No different than all the stats they dredge up every week during the regular seaosn to feature something special someone on the field or court is doing by filtering down until they find the right baseline. Just simpler.

All that matters is those total TBs, RBIs, and runs. That's what those extra SBs buy you.

I mean, if we want to go by that reasoning, isn’t all that really matters winning the World Series?

To me, they each played so well this year it’s silly to compare the two. A handful of extra hits or stolen bases, to me, doesn’t really put one over the other. We’re really just nitpicking.

That's a team achievement, and we were specifically asked to dismiss postseason considerations.

In this instance, how can you not take the post season into consideration? They were both equally a part of it down to the WS.

The reason why I give the edge to Shotime is, because he basically did it as a DH only. I think when he’s pitching and on his game, in addition to hitting, he’s the most dominant player in the league. And I’m a Yankees fan.
