I see where the normal year end goals for the next year thread popped up on the front page, which is funny cause a friend of mine tonight was asking what i was going to shoot for next year. He does running and his goal this year was 12 5ks which he managed to pull off. HIs times weren't world beaters but he had a good time doing it.

I'm not really sure what my goals are next year, although I was upset that no one in the other thread mentioned or even alluded to curl or jaktness goals.(the two foundations of true strength). I didn't hit what I really wanted to this year and although I gained about 9% total I think its not where I wanted to end up.

Over the next couple days I think I'll put some thought into what I'm looking to accomplish and the methods I'm going to use to get there. Right now I'm pretty happy with my deadlift programing(if you want to call it that) and long term I think there will be benifits to it. My bench feels a little stalled beyong the 10-15lbs I think I have in the bank on a good day and of course my squat is hit and miss enough to not worry much about at all. I think I mentioned this a week or two ago that the only goal from my orginal set I have never met(when I started) is to clean and press/jerk/snatch, a 100 lb db. I think I've done a 90 at some some point but am pretty sure I've never even cleaned the 95 or 100.

Also for the record my weight is sitting at 212 as of this morning.

If amateur is it those stupid ass rules that we have here in UK were you can't strike to the head on the ground (fair enough) or STANDING! (WTF)! Basically the only way to finish an amateur fight here is submission!

How come your training 4min rounds too?

Are you doing any additional circuits, without giving too much away??
 
I'm not fighting, I get a call here and there to do fighter prep for people. There aren't alot of guys around here that are willing to come into a camp and just work since most of the more skilled guys are working towards there own goals.

Since its a closed camp for this guy I really can't say much more I try to leave anything about him out of it and just talk breifly about how I felt or what I did.

Pro rules here are the unified rules which mimic the UFC's

Amateur rules vary, some org. allow elbows standing, some allow knees to the head standing and some prohibit knees completely(rare though). ALl allow striking to the head on the ground(exception for under 18) and all subs including cranks and leg attacks are legal, again with some exceptions for knee bars in one org. If any of this makes sense at all. Basically short version is each amateur org has its own rule set all of which are based on the unified rules and then they take away ceartian things depending on what group your talking about.
 
Amateur here is 3 minute rounds, pro five. The 4 minute rounds were for my benifit since I"m in no kind of shape to work hard for 5s.

Well I think that would be fine. I didn't put "and guest" on the invites but it doesn't really matter.
 
cThis talk of a party brings up a sore spot for me. The concept of Happy Holidays v Merry Christmas. Take this e-card for example it says Happy Holidays, well she's obviously not jewish so it should be Merry Christmas

I'm not sure who is throwing this other holiday party in their log, but I welcome with open arms all hotties that are dressed to celebrate the Christmas Season. Also any jewish friends of theirs who want to celebrate Chanukah which I think kicks off this year on Dec 23rd.

Also I want to note that I on Oct 19th is when I changed to my deadlift workouts to volume doing a single at 425 and 365x2x4 that day. My last session was 365 for a total of 24 reps which I'm not sure I could do then. I don't believe I have attempted a max single for these past 6 weeks. So I've come to the point where I need to decide go up in reps or up in weight and back to 385x3x4-5 or so. Which would be roughly 84% or so.

Despite all the rumors I do not spike my eggnog wth roofies. (I put those in the BBQ'd weinies.) (I guess the word Cok wiht an added C is word filterd)
