Not a ton of time, but I had multiple friends with horses and a brief job for a horse barn in college.

That is a fucking scary place to be in. They get spooked and kick, even with front legs rather than the rear legs, and they will shatter whatever bone they come in contact with. Even if they're not trying to hurt you but just lash out to regain their balance
