These are clearly troll threads so I'm not going to rehash this a bunch of times. But there is no such thing as .000(∞)1

That is not how infinity works. Infinity never ends. You can't stick a number on the end because there is no end. If it helps, think of it as an inefficiency of the decimal system that there is more than one way of expressing the value 1.

Sigh ... the guys who said .3333333 is 1/3 are right. It's really a problem with the base 10 number system we have. Interesting, if i remember correctly, if you change to a different base number system you can fix the .333333 problem but other repeating numbers occur.

Since there's INFINITELY many zeros, you will never reach the 1, making the number just a decimal point and an infinite amount of zeros, without the 1. Which, of course, equals zero.

So .999... does in fact equal 1, according to your math.
 
.9 repeating is equal to 1.

What is 1/10 of .999
its 0.099999-

What is .999999 minus 0.0999999
Well then it is .9
But that is just the same as saying 10/10 - 1/10
Which is 9/10 or .9
Therefore .9999 = 1
