Gregor most recently fought in May 2021, a second-round TKO of Carlos Diego Ferreira. He was removed from the rankings around July-August 2022 due to inactivity but had climbed as high as #8 before that.

I would love to see Gregor return vs. anyone, but in particular #10 Grant Dawson, #8 Arman Tsarukyan or #7 Mateusz Gamrot would all be very competitive wrestler vs. wrestler matchups.

If Gregor actually signs a bout agreement there should definitely be room to slide him back into the LW rankings because #9 Rafael dos Anjos is a welterweight now, and #11 Jalin Turner and #14 Damir Ismagulov have both lost 2 in a row. That would give these top opponents an incentive to face Gregor.

Who knows what he'll look like if he returns but Gregor stays in the gym. He gets into full mount in almost every fight, looks for ground and pound or arm triangles, and has a high finish rate.

The dude had his chance, he blew it with his inactivity. FKL took his soul. He won't be a contender now. Give him somebody good but outisde the top 15 for this "last fight". He is 37 already I think.

I was super high on CDF and was impressed with how Gregor handled him.
Issue is being so inactive at LW is career suicide since guys like Arman and Dawson are overshadowing him by just being active. Despite showing some issues as they move up the ranks.

I feel like Mociano could jab his way to a win over Arman and Dawson but Gregor showed he can force elite fighters to wrestle against their will by drowning CDF, a guy who was just as good as Dariush.

I get what you're saying but we do follow a sport where guys like Jon Jones and Stipe get to sit out for years and then waltz straight into a title fight.

Jared Gordon is one of the most boring LWs on the roster and having him face Gillespie would be a waste of everyone's time.

For competitiveness reasons, I want to see Gillespie fight someone close to the level he was at when he was last ranked.

If #10 Dawson is too high for a guy who was last ranked #9, give him #13 Renato Moicano or #15 Matt Frevola. Or at least a guy like Terrence McKinney or Drew Dober.
