.

Definitely, Dana said Lorenzo bought a multi million dollar mega yacht. And for some reason has Jake Ellenberger working as his bodyguard lol
Wow, that's pretty cool to see Jake was able to find something to do after fighting.

With Lorenzo owning the UFC you had:

-Stable ppv prices
-Company wasnt so corporatey and penny pinching
-UFC would give out more backdoor bonuses to fighters
-many fighters were looked after even when they retired
- UFC was run more like a family organization
-Lorenzo used to spank Dana when he was out of line.

Many fighters have commentated how UFC has changed since the sale. Including Anderson Silva who became disillusioned with how UFC was run now.

Now in the Ari Emanuel era you have:

-Bloated ppv prices, that keep rising
-more wmma fights (lets be honest more than half of the wmma roster is awful, but they keep pushing it on cards)
-watered down cards
- more cards through the year that just drag on
-You have to pay to subscribe to ESPN + and you still get ads on top of it
-They even messed up the TUF relaunch by putting Ortega and Volk on it lol.

Lorenzo with his suave Italian charm could have easily convinced Colby and Jorge to be coaches. The UFC isnt the same without him.

Discuss.

The product as a whole is watered down.
Lorenzo was a fan, Ari is a douche...big difference.

There's pros and cons in both. A balance between the 2 is best. WME-IMG era has made it more mainstream and got it into ESPN deal which is huge for the sport. It legitimizes it and that's why UFC has been chasing that forever. But Lorenzo definitely understood fighting/mma/UFC more than the WME-IMG people. They are still trying to figure things out and looking at it from a bunch of different scopes as they try to take in all the information. Reason why they can't get rid of Dana. They wouldn't know how to handle it without him.

If they got rid of Dana you have no idea how bad it would be, and I can't stand Dana.

I understand it well, that's why I said they can't get rid of Dana. They know nothing about the mma fight business. They would make all the wrong moves. They need people there that knows what they are looking at in terms of talent, potential stars, match making, contenders, potential champions, ppv stars, etc. Plus they need a Dana that knows how to handle dealing with fighters.

All true sir.

Those people exist outside of Dana White lol. You're making it out like Dana handles all of these things when he really doesn't at all.

In terms of talent, the UFC has talent scouts all over the world. It's no different from a major league soccer team. The head coach isn't out scouting in the regionals. The scouts do that.

Dana isn't a match-maker. Other people do those jobs.

Dana could be removed without issue, someone would take his place because a figurehead is always handy, and things would proceed as they always did.

That's why I named Dana White separately on that list. You underestimate Dana's involvement, he's been in part of the UFC for a very long time. He knows how to run it and has experience/knowledge that no one else has. Plus he knows how to put fighters in their place when he needs to. That's not something easy to find, not everyone deals with fighters, it's a different element. If they could replace him they would have, they can't and that's why he's not going anywhere.

Compared to Ari he was ten times better. But let’s be honest Jake Paul and all the new age fans were gonna turn ufc into what it is today anyway

Yeh, he's been a part of it forever, and obviously had a lot to do with where it is now. My point is that there are already plenty of people who do any job that Dana can do, and if they don't already do it better, people can be hired who can.

Dealing with fighters is nothing. The whole badass/strongman boss is old school bullshit that looks great for the media and is familiar. Dana is literally a figurehead at this point. WME is a talent agency who deal with far bigger clients than anything on the UFC roster. They didn't get where they are by not knowing how to deal with any sort of person in a variety of ways.

Ufc is too entertainment oriented today. The same thing that ruined the NBA. Dumb down the product for the greater good of viewership but chip away from the foundation of the sport in the process
