No one questions his abilities as a fighter,

The problem is that he's an asshole and obviously oblivious about it and it's kinda sad, because he continues to isolate himself more from the ones that he share a common interest with..

Dude's kinda dumb to be honest..
Yea I think he really could drop the shtick now. I'd like if he'd make amends with Jorge.

Seems more like he built the persona, you know, taking a page from Chael Sonnen, then ran with it. Somewhere in all of the success he because the roll he was playing. No denying his profile and money went up when he adopted the MAGE douchebag lifestyle.
They are nothing alike.

I'm interested in the rematch purely from a sporting perspective. All this wolf ticket bullsheet is just unnecessary.

This should be a great fight no matter who wins!

He was literally the first person on Earth to say his jaw was broken... says it in between rounds 3 and 4.

Now he says it is a lie. So, in effect, he admits he was whining his jaw was broken when it wasn't broken? Not a good look.

The irony of it is if he didn't say it first this whole thing wouldn't even be a thing of conversation, but it came straight from the horses mouth...

Oh damn the thought of this being a trilogy is dreadful. The “Oh it’s 1-1 one person needs to have the winning record” mindset is simplistic
I mean, yeah, but who else will Colby fight next? If Doostin wins the LW belt, UFC would probably entertain a champ champ fight, if Masvidal beats Leon - maybe Mas could be next for Colby, but I doubt UFC would give Mas a 3rd title shot. And Usman's a defending champ, it would be hard to deny him the trilogy if he demands it.

Surprised Usman even took this bout as he really needs to start thinking about a huge payday superfight before he gets injured or Dana trashes him like Ngannou.

I mean he fought Masvidal twice.

He's had his gimme fights.

Colby just lacks the charisma for his act.

Now that we all know who he is.

I'd be curious for him to do a face turn and just act normal and genuine.

Usman is an amazing fighter. The problem with him is he is extremely unlikeable and I don’t know who he would have a super fight with….. GSP isn’t coming back and Izzy is his friend?!

That about sums it up. Khabib would have been interesting but he seemed to avoid that very early as well...

I don't get how Usman can be considered unlikeable. What has he actually done or not done to displease people? Simply pushing Colbie's shit in makes him extremely likeable imo.

I think he wins the rematch, but then loses the trilogy.
What makes you say that??

Usman seems better now than ever.

If Colby couldn't beat him back then* but now he can... what makes you think he will subsequently lose a trilogy. Does he lose his fire when he becomes champ and Usman becomes reenergized as a challenger or something?

Colby either will end up 0-2 or 2-1 imo.

Hey no more MAGA hat...

Since he loves WWE so much, he needs to work on a face turn. The Heel bit is played out..
To the WWE, being MAGA is being a face.

Completely unrelated, super excited for their pockets to deepen in Saudia Arabia soon too..

I think, without interruptions of fouls - were most legit or not the first time - Colby's pace will be too overwhelming for Usman. He's gonna want a break when there will be no time for breaks and start to lose it. Meanwhile Colby's just gonna keep coming and being active.

Colby doesn't care about being taken down either, so won't be open for the kind of stuff Mas was. And he hasn't trained with him day in and day out, aware of all of his flaws like Usman was with Burns. I also think Usman will come in more cocksure and dismissive, even if he's being told to take Colby seriously - I think Usman's marking out for Covington's character and still reliving the first victory, mostly focusing on flattering photos of the end of that fight.

But then, I think this is Colby's very prime and he won't be able to sustain it like Usman. In their 3rd fight, Colby just won't be as physically good as he is right now and Trevor Wittman will have him figured out.

But I'm just going by vibes and sherdogging feelz. Usman should, realistically, be the rightful favorite.

It's a gimmick, and he picked up it up because he had to or else Dana was going to cut him. He was previously a poorly paid humble wrestler and then when he went full heel, he became one of the biggest needle movers in the UFC. Us fans can not complain about fighters being meanies when we reward them with our clicks/views when they go full heel, or ask the nice guys to be cut for being 'boring'.

It's a gimmick that he picked up to promote himself, but the idea that he was going to get cut if he didn't start doing it is laughable.

He was a good prospect who had one submission loss to a guy who was super-hyped at the time. He didn't make a lot of money and hadn't publicly said anything negative about the UFC, so why would they cut him? They need mid-card guys like that to run the excessive amount of shows that they've been putting on sonce the Fox deal started.

Also, he would've gotten over big with a lot of people based solely on how badly he beat up Maia even if he hadn't said all the crazy shit about Brazilians.

That said, the MAGA stuff gave him crossover exposure, and it's fair play considering how many athletes promote liberal causes when they give promos.

Going to be some sad little nerds on Sherdog when Colby smashes Usman's face into the ground @ 268.
As someone who can’t stand Colby I wouldn’t mind seeing this purely because he will no longer be able to duck legitimate contenders like he has. It’ll be shit or get off the pot.

The reffing was def bullshit in that fight, and DC's commentary was ridiculously biased towards Usman.

People get so up in their feelings that they can't judge things properly.

Says the guy so up in Colby's ass that he believes everything Colby says and sees the world out to get him.
