Obviously Conor has massively hurt his brand with all the trouble he's been getting into outside of the cage. He has lost fans that can't ever be won back and rightfully so. He would never be someone I'd want to see my kids look up to. No matter how you feel about a Conor whether you're a hugger or a hater it's a fact that his image is at all time lows.

Another thing, Conor has always showed up and taken the big fights. Everyone always says "Conor won't ever fight "insert name" and then he does. When he came back for Cerrone people were ready to bet their lives that he would never fight again. So whether you're a hugger or a hater its a fact he hasn't ducked anyone.

Now that we agree on those 2 fronts let's get to the point. If Conor comes and walks through Dustin or atleast has a great fight with him and comes out as a clear winner then I think that plus the recent Cerrone mauling will win him back some fans and help his brand. Hard to support an asshole if he's losing fights too. This is a big moment for Conor. Dustin is in his prime right now and better than the first fight, McGregor is too but Dustin has looked great lately. Cardio vs Chin in my opinion.

Another non biased fact about these two.. name a boring fight with either of them. No matter what this fights is gonna be sick. Coin toss fight imo

I don't think too many will agree on your first two statements. People on here believe that he's ducking Jake Paul, so good luck with that.
It doesn't matter if they agree lol, they're both facts and of people don't agree thats fine, but even they know its true. They're just too invested into Conor regardless of their stance on him. Those people aren't rational anyways so I just ignore them.

Don't think anything will 'win back' fans for Conor. He could show up not say a word, walk into the cage, OWN Dustin in any way possible and people (myself included) still won't like him,.

I think this could be a great fight, hope it is, just want Conor to lose.
Like I said, he'll never win some fans back and rightfully so.

Conor's huggers are going to hug win or lose. They will magnify his achievements and laud him with praise while downplaying his faults and failures.

Conor is an exciting fighter with a style that appeals to casuals and people who are easily amped up and only appreciate that type of fights, finishes or are front runners.

However, it's been a while since he beat a top contender. He got mauled by Khabib. He barely beat Diaz that second time. He's had numerous issues outside of the cage and he's just a lot of bravado without top tier results at this point.

He could walk through Dustin and the hype would start again from those that are his most ardent supporters, them feeling incredibly justified, but if you hate him you're probably always going to.

Conor vs Cowboy was embarrassing garbage. But, yeah, they're both in fun fights, usually. And beating a proper 155er at 155 definitely helps clear things up cause all that blown up LWs fighting at WW weirdness combined with being 1-1 in the division while still hanging at the top there was just annoying my OCD to absolute shit.

Anyways, I will probably root for Doostin, but Conor's a horrible style match up for him. And fair play. If you're better, you're better.

As far as getting fans back - I don't think we're getting the fun loving Conor back. And if he wins, we're probably cruising into more boxing waters, so anything built up from this will get drained again.

Firstly, learn the difference between "fact" and "opinion".

Secondly:

Thirdly:

McGregor called out Diego Sanchez of all people, that's ducking personified.

The fact is that fight has never been officially offered to Conor for him to duck it. Plus Conor fought Khabib who beat Gaethje. Now Conor is scheduled to fight Dustin who also beat Gaethje. People can hate on Conor but to say he ducks fights makes no sense if you look at his history. He's always taken the biggest challenges. Yeah you can bring up Cerrone and Diego but that's only because everyone wants Conor to only fight the very best. That should tell you something about his perceived skill level even by his haters.

Every fighter has fights on the level of Cerrone and Diego when they are coming off losses. Gaethje will have his chance to fight Conor if they both win their next fights. There will be very few options after that and it could easily be Conor vs Gaethje next. Other than that it would just be the winner of Chandler vs Hooker so either way he'll be right there in line for the belt.

I don't think they actually think he's ducking him, they see it for what it is... a lose-lose situation for Conor. Win or lose it's not a great look either way you spin it. Plus Jake Paul has the size advantage and a puncher's chance because of his KO power. Any success Jake Paul has in that fight will be a bad look for Conor and with the size/power advantage there's a always a chance of a flash KO loss. If Nate Diaz can stun Conor, Jake Paul can too if he is able to connect clean. Nate Diaz has better boxing but Jake Paul has more power in his punches.

If you are going to take a risk in boxing do it against the best. That's what Conor is doing.

I think he meant for fighting Khabib. Plus UFC isn't going to do a short notice fight with Conor, they need time to market the fight properly with Conor involved since he's one of the biggest stars. I would only see them doing it as a short notice replacement to fight Khabib because they can easily sell/promote that and piggy back off the first fight. Plus I think Conor was dealing with travel restrictions same as Khabib during that time.

no conor said i stay ready cause khabib will pull out. ufc 249 would be moved cause of covid so they would been booking it for that date.

with no fans there less they need to promote it also this idea they need to max market a conor fight it wrong. you say coonr fighting and you sold 1,5 million ppvs in 30 seconds.

What I'm trying to say is that it's something that shouldn''t even be remotely close to being discussed. Analyzing the pros and cons too much, such as you, is beyond me. It won't ever happen, and it will never be close to happening. Deluded people everywhere.
