Conor has an opportunity to win back some fans

Lmao people really think it's about being moral in the UFC lmao, Jones will have more PPV sales in his comeback than Khabib's last fight. Conor will continue to set records on PPV sales again and again.
I remember when Dana asked a reporter something like "do you think people are gonna buy to watch him" or "would you buy" something like that after the dolly incident. LMAO of course people are gonna buy, he just made it bigger than ever

yes, cause he was the lineal champion at the time.
So, Conor could've won the belt and gone on a 9 fight losing streak, 1-9, and still been equally as good as someone who's streaking 10-0 in the UFC, ranked #1 but hasn't fought for the title yet?

UFC 251 sold 200k more than Conor vs Cowboy. Conor had his lowest selling PPV since 2015, even though PPV buys have been up drastically in 2020. He is still obviously the biggest star in the UFC, but he has also clearly lost a lot of popularity
he's probably lost a little, more to do with losing to Khabib and inactivity than any of his outside the octagon antics IMO.
Not really fair to compare UFC 251, no other sports were running, fight island got a ton of mainstream media press. in normal circumstances UFC 251 does not do that many buys.

so agreed he's lost a bit, but as I said I'd say that's due more to 2 high profile losses (Khabib and Floyd) and inactivity than anything else.

I cbf typing a mature reply because anything I do write will be wasted on you OP.

I thought this was a disguised troll - boy was I wrong.

lets take tony for example...all those wins he had, mean absolute shit, cause he lost the big ones...he never won that title. so all those wins, mean very little....it's like going undefeated during the regular season, but losing the superbowl...they will not be looked upon as a great team, cause they lost the big one. just like the patriots did a few years back.

So Tony is inferior to Pettis and RDA, despite beating them, just cause they were champs at one point? Doostin is inferior to Max cause, much like Tony, he never held the real title, despite beating Max twice?

What about Chris Wideman? He hasn't lost 10, shouldn't he be at the very TOP at MW? Same with Rockhold? Lawler was champ - should we throw him back into title contention? I mean, he hasn't lost 10 yet. By your logic, he should be granted same privileges as Conor, over guys like Colby.

Firstly, learn the difference between "fact" and "opinion".

Secondly:

Thirdly:

McGregor called out Diego Sanchez of all people, that's ducking personified.

Yea asking to fight Diego is really sad and shows that Conor must have lost some confidence or was high/drunk.

If Conor walks.trhough Dustin won't do him wonders because he already beat him once so people will just shit o Dustin.

How is Conor better now then when they first fought?

Measured by an upward projectory of career development for both guys.

Conor has won 2 belts since then. Poirier has moved up and fought for the belt at LW and has been a top 5 guy in both divisions.

Don't think anything will 'win back' fans for Conor. He could show up not say a word, walk into the cage, OWN Dustin in any way possible and people (myself included) still won't like him,.

I think this could be a great fight, hope it is, just want Conor to lose.
I understand people not liking him . His rise to super stardom has definitely had some tainted moments but if he walks through Poirer it will be hard to deny that he is the best LW in the world outside of Khabib. It blows my mind when people act like he hasn't done impressive things in his career and they play it off everytime he has a big win with some excuse "fight was fixed " , "oh he's tailor made " , "that was a fluke "
