Shogun was beating Paul Craig in the stand up exchanges. Not bad considering his age, MMA mileage, and how sluggish he looked. He only lost after Craig decided he couldn't beat Shogun standing and took him to the ground.

If I hadn't watched the fight and just read the comments here on Sherdog, I would have thought Shogun got outclassed and dominated.

We can respect the man, but at the end of the day you gotta call a spade a spade. He's not exactly giving a good account of himself, compared to other old warhorses like Teixeira. At this point Shogun is just fighting for a paycheque. He looked completely gassed after the first round and seems to have mentally checked out. If you put yourself out there with such a performance, there will be people who would throw shade your way.

I went and rewatched the fight, and yes, you're right. Craig was winning the striking exchanges in the 1st round.

2nd round was back and forth and basically a draw.

Near the end of the 3rd round, Shogun won the last striking exchange until Craig took him down.
