That was an amazing fight. I could have seen either guy leading into the fifth. What an incredible fight. I’m personally not a fan of Covington’s schtick but the guy is an elite fighter. Absolutely incredible war.
Round 1: Usman had the bigger shots but it looked like Covington had the pace and volume. Toss up.
Round 2: Covington had the pace and volume way more than Usman had big shots.
Covington
Round 3: Usman took back the ground he lost. Had the bigger shots. Covington had volume. In hindsight the jaw break shot won him the round. But in the moment:

Round 4: Covington came out balls to the wall stepping more into his shots. Landing harder punches than his previous shots and keeping the volume up. Usman held his ground and took his moments.
Slight edge to Covington.
Round 5: That’s all she wrote. Two knockdowns. Don’t care if it was early, that was a 10-8 Usman if it was early.
One of the best fights I’ve seen in a long time. I hope for a rematch in about 18 months to see how these two studs grow.
