It’s unfortunate GSP only got to compete once during the USADA era

For someone who was such a major advocate for stricter drug testing, it’s a shame we only got to see him fight under USADA once. Weird, actually.

You would think he would’ve been itching to take a lot fights once the rampant PED abuse was stopped by USADA in late 2015.

It's fitting. It isn't just a coincidence.

He also has a giant roid gut, had oddly specific requirements around how he wanted to be tested, left right when USADA showed up and only returned to take a fight that he could easily win

So GSP would “easily” beat Bisping. But Rockhold, Anderson, Henderson all couldn’t easily beat him? Damn GSP is amazing.

Anderson and Henderson were both ancient at the time and they both arguably won. GSP looked no better than either of those 2 when he fought Bisping.

Bisping landed a beautiful punch on Rockhold. Great win.

Anything else? Any response to the rest of my post?

Hendo was 46 and got robbed by London Judges (also KTFO Ping in their primes)

Silva was 40 and snapped his leg in half two years prior, also robbed by London judges

Rockhold is 1-1 vs Ping and the KO is widely considered a fluke by most.

It’s a good win for Georges, but he still ducked Silva during their concurrent title reigns.

It was the tail end of his career and he did testing against Hendricks who refused.

Fact: GSP retired 3 weeks before NSAC enhanced testing(which included tests for hGH) started

Just saying

hahaha, great thread. also many people don't know but he retired the first time a couple of months before NSAC started out of competition drug testing. just a big coincidence

rockhold for me fought stupidly. also chinny. also washed up anderson and hendo. anderson and hendo in their prime would whoop him. and hendo actually did

Anderson was past his prime, but he just fought pretty competitively vs adesanya. And I’m the Anderson and Henderson fights, there is no argument Bisping won at least 3 rounds in each.

And oh here’s the “it was a beautiful lunch” excuse. I’m not even a fucking bisping fan lol. But this shit has gotten ridiculous.

GSPs win has been discredited. Because “he thought he could beat bisping “. Do you understand how stupid that sounds? Nowadays, any fighter with any leverage only takes fights they think they can win. It’s retarded to even entertain.

Well that makes sense actually. Mid 2016 GSP announced he was re-negotiating his contract with the UFC, eagerly entering the USADA testing pool at the same time. See he was very much itching. Negotiations took months because of the UFC trying to low ball GSP. We all know that.

Jon has only fought 3 times under USADA, and failed like 100 different tests. That's the real shame IMO.

I thought GSP said he left UFC because of lack of drug testing?

Shouldn’t he be fighting more than ever now that USADA is in place?

It took him two years to fight under usada? That doesn’t seem like he was in a rush to compete under the new rules.

Maybe he needed time to adjust things accordingly, while waiting for the right opponent to pick.

You do know Silva was a welterweight fighter before coming to the UFC right? The UFC plan was to have Silva come over and fight Hughes at one point. You know that right? Do you?

So then when Silva finally did come over, he came as a Middleweight. Why? Maybe because that weight class was weak as hell back then. And the WW division was full of sharks and wrestlers. So a stronger argument can be made that Silva ducked GSP than one that GSP ducked Silva.

I know generally it’s thought that the lighter guy should move up. But Silva has said recently that he can still make WW even now. When he challenged Conor. He never once offered to come down to fight GSP though. Interesting right?

He knew GSP was too professional to jump weightclasses during his prime. And he sure as fuck didn’t want to fight GSP at his natural weight. So the fight was never made.

What do you mean? You just admitted the effects of USADA were apparent by 2016, not long after that GSP is entering USADA test pool, for over a year leading up to his fight with Bisping. Passing a total of 19 tests since. How many tests you think it took for Anderson and Jones to eventually fail one? Hint: It was less than 19.

What was he adjusting? Even Jones and his PED using brothers with their NFL "doctors" can't beat USADA. GSP has some magic Canadian PEDs?

The fight was never made because Georges didn’t push for it the same way he pushed for Bisping.
