"Mommas homeboy is not a russian troll"

See we can all tell baseless lies

Yes this is done. I don’t know what @foxnewsfan menas by “It was fixed and it passed”—AFAIK, all proposed Republican amendments to this bill failed. They passed the same bill that they previously passed but then didn’t pass. Make sense? <45>

It passed because those that voted against it were getting heat about it from groups that are solid GOP votes. The fist bump after fucking over veterans did not help the optics either. Mitch realized after he got done diverting tax dollars to his wife’s businesses, this bill was the wrong one to not give Dark Brandon a W. So Mitch ordered the fist bumpers to change their vote.

Yup, exactly this. I mean fuck, the Dems finally get a W over Mitch for like the first time in a decade, and the GOP wanted to get vindictive about it. Bad move with a bill like that.

Wait... So alterations were made and it has now passed? So this is done now?
No they allowed the Republicans to vote on three amendments to the bill, which they offered to do the same last time. The amendments failed and they passed the bill as it was. Nothing changed.

Dont worry the typical Rube will lie to themselves in thinking, it changed and the noble GOP saved the budget, because Patriots gonna Patriot.

Gotcha. Well, I guess them looking like utter assholes saved the day from them continuing to be utter assholes..

Nonsense they voted for it before and didn't have a problem with it. They are just after political revenge because Biden is getting a bill passed. Go take a look at the Veteran bill thread that is already out to see the Republicans nonsense exposed. In before merge.
Not true. Not even a good lie. This is just complete stupidity

Sorry if the truth hurts bro. Gonna have to just accept it.

<{hughesimpress}>
It’s not true. The fact that I can’t believe you’re dumb enough to not know the difference here means that you’re just outright lying.

Sorry that reality is different than you want it to be. Acceptance is the key to your suffering.

In case T.S. and other right leaning posters missed it...

Sen. John Cornyn R-Texas told CNN that Republicans did not back the measure because Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer D-NY was bocking votes on amendments Republicans wanted.

Cornyn said Republicans wanted to negotiate to “eliminate some of the mandatory spendings in the bill.”

Sen Cornyn let the cat out of the bag.

The PACT Act as written includes a budget gimmick that would allow $400 billion of current law spending to be moved from the discretionary to the mandatory spending category," the release read.

It went on: "This provision is completely unnecessary to achieve the PACT Act's stated goal of expanding health care and other benefits for veterans. However, it would enable an additional $400 billion in future discretionary spending completely unrelated to veterans. By failing to remove this gimmick, Congress would effectively be using an important veterans care bill to hide a massive, unrelated spending binge."

SO what was the fucking400 billion? it doesnt state it.

They're just quoting a GOP senator that's bull-shitting. LOL at his assertion that there's a hidden 400 billion in EXTRA discretionary spending, that's completely untrue.

There isn't any discretionary spending in the bill. The bill didn't change from when they all voted for it to when they voted against it. It's always been mandatory spending, WTF is the point of the bill to help Vets if the spending isn't mandatory--it can then just be taken away. The fact that this is the sticking point the GOP intention of defunding this if they had the opportunity in the future.

It's really sad that so many people have been herded into echo chambers so that our "leaders" feel they can get away with blatant lies, and be comfortable that their supporters won't be told about it.

It's not current pork per se, it's just a loophole to smuggle it in later. You should know by now they don't write bills that are just what they say they are. It's not even clever, but everyone has to pretend the bills are all "the hugs for puppies act" because they can't make a separate bill called "pork for donors".

You do realize that mandatory forces Congress to spend the money on veterans and discretionary means that any given year the funds can be reallocated elsewhere right?
