Draisaitl is the definition of a big game player. He shows up when it matters. McDavid is always there and he's a consistent source of points but he's not that Gretzky/Jagr/Lemeiux type of guy that can go out and just dominate.

To be fair to McDavid... He's getting the puck to Draisaitl... a lot

funny to see him on the broadcast the other night, still the same guy

McDavid is very good but he's not truly 'great'.

The great players step up in the big games.

He's just kind of consistent.

He never gets the hat trick and carries the team to a win all on his own the way a truly great player does.

lol.

SPORTSNET.CA: How would you describe your relationship with Connor McDavid?

JAROMIR JAGR: I respect the game he plays. It’s fun to watch. The way he plays, he sometimes makes very good players look silly. And it’s special. I always admire people who are greater than the rest of ’em. I believe in God. [Jagr points to the cross on his T-shirt.] So, I can see the God in him. It’s something that’s great. I always appreciate it. Because it’s got to be something more than the rest of us.

He's been touched by God?

Some higher energy. Something. You just gotta have something extra to be dominating on that level. You gotta have something special. Like, when you look at basketball, you get Jordan. You got to be different. And to be that different, it’s special. That’s the way I see it. I can appreciate the greatness of the people. Gretzky was different. Mario Lemieux was different.

Red Wings went back to back on this date in 1998. I was hoping Konstantinov would've recovered by now but he's still pretty messed up. :(

The Vladinator was a machine. Damn the Wings had so much talent back then.

How many goals does he have this series?

I'm guessing it's equal to the amount of full hockey games you've watched this season

Well it's not

I was a Vancouver fan for years when I lived there. What I learned is it doesn't matter what you do in the regular season and it doesn't even really matter what you do in the playoffs until the finals.

You can have Naslund and the Sedins and score a bazillion points, it doesn't matter if you choke every time it matters.
