i mean yeah they probably won't be going too deep into the playoffs then but at least there would be some good theatrics out of it.

If Stars do fire him, i would bet on Gallant or if one must pick up and coming coach, Adam Foote (ohh wait nvm he is new Canucks coach, missed this somehow).

What's really fucked up is he DID do something, he called a time out (which I fully agree with at that point). Pulling otter fucked his team. A part of me does want Ottinger to pull a Roy and demand a trade. I can think of 20+ other teams that would kill for a goalie the caliber of him.

Oh' yeah, that was bad. Just son'd him in front of everyone, and then throws him under the bus at the press conference.

That was a "he's gone, or I'm gone" moment. One of them ain't gonna be back next year. Not too familiar with Dallas to know the goalie situation, but there's no way those guys are gonna be working together next year.

Strange/crazy move indeed. One has to wonder if something happened behind closed doors which resulted in this. Probably not as bad as Roy-Trembley/Habs but if we see Ottinger getting traded, might aswell try my luck and apply for the Stars coach or GM job that opens up in near future.

Didn't Ottinger play that whole series until the last game? Oilers scored 16 goals in the first four games (a few were empty netters, but still).

Goal scoring was an issue for Dallas as well but their Goals Against was abysmal. Not sure I buy the Oettinger superstar narrative.
