leafs are now in panic mode. they are competing with edmonton to determine who can choke the hardest in the playoffs and i don't know how they will be able to top this but i am confident that they will find a way.

literally all skinner had to do was stand there and it would have went to overtime. the job of a goaltender is to tend the net and in the last few seconds of the game the goaltender went AWOL alongside of his defensemen. like he was fucking gone. checked the fuck out. probably like 20 feet out of the crease and on his back by the time the puck went into the net.

hats off to draisaitl for that game winning own goal. but if skinner was just standing in his crease making himself look useful that shit never would have happened.

Skinner reminds me of a skill in an RPG I'm currently playing:

"50% more attack power, but take 50% more damage"

Bouchard is kind of like that. 75% more power to take 25% more damage or something. I don't know where Skinner's extra damage comes from. I guess since he's good against the cycle, but bad against the rush it makes some sense. With Skinner I think, at least last year, he was effective for his cap hit. So he's like a low resource spell cost. This year though I wouldn't say he's playing at the level of a 2.5M goalie when his 1M backup is considerably better. Oilers just don't have anyone else they can rely on now that Pickard is injured. Oilers made some big defensive mistakes last night, but that's bound to happen and you need your goalie to save some of them. On the game winning goal last night, the skaters (and I think coach due to a bad line change) made mistakes, but that isn't a goal if Skinner doesn't leave the net for no reason.

they need to trade skinner for the zamboni driver. motherfucker gave up two in under a minute after the oilers get a 2-0 lead

Expected goals were 2.75 - 2.31 for the Oilers. Skinner constantly letting in more goals than analytics predict.

I listened to the game last night and just got a chance to actually see the goal now. Hats off to Vegas, they didn't take the last 10 seconds of the period off. From the angle I saw it looks like it would have gone wide if Leon hadn't tipped it.

Guy just can't help it, every time he touches the puck, it's going in the net.

Dallas has cheerleaders.
