NHL 24/25 - Still did better than Vancouver

I think that might be it for old Torts as a head coach in general. He's practically a novelty act at this point.

I'm always surprised that Torts is the oldest coach in the league. He looks young.

I think he's decent, if old school. Could do without the schtick sometimes but I think he's in good. Problem is he usually likes you or not and there's no "let's just grit teeth and work together"

8 in a row, fuck the Preds!

Also, thanks for Holloway Oilers!

Just saw that Ovi brought the entire Caps team back onto the ice last night after the game to do a handshake line with Fleury. Total class act.

After Oilers lose to Kings in the first round, Torts to Oilers is match made in heaven.

I don't see Knoblauch going. Oilers have a pretty impeccable record (looks like 33-3-2) when they get .900 or better goaltending, but Skinner has like 2 games above .900 in his last 13 starts (as well as 2 below .800). They need a goalie and really could've used the young talent they lost. Really abysmal management.

well folks i can't believe i am admitting to this, but i had to shamefully reduce myself to becoming an oilers fan for a night and cheering on those assclowns.

they managed to beat calgary in overtime but calgary still mustered up a point. canucks still got a hill to climb if they want to catch st louis who just won 9 straight games. but we gotta get the flames off our asses too.

edmonton couldn't even beat the flames in regulation and they allowed them to muster up a critical point out of it.

thank god i only had to be an oilers fan for one night. let me be honest here and tell you something guys and it's coming straight from the heart. those guys fucking suck. worse than the canucks did the other night after blowing a 3 goal lead against columbus and then losing in a shootout. though that might partially be my fault. i took off @Meatspin 's lucky canucks thong after the 1st period because that shit was starting to ride and the next thing you know we shat the bed and lost 7-6.

we did everything we could to lose a game we were up 3 goals in going into the 2nd period. and we succeeded big time at that. it hurts. but not as much as being an oilers fan for a day. you had one job assholes. beat the flames in regulation. edmonton you are dead to me.

they say you learn something new every day. and today i learned that there is actually something that sucks more then the oilers. it's being an oilers fan.

that sucked absolutely. watching calgary walk away with a point did not warm the inner cockles of my heart. i know if it was my canucks who were playing the flames that wouldn't have happened. we would have gotten up 3 or 4 goals. and then found a way to lose maybe :(

You got the true Edmonton fan experience from this season. Draisaitl carries the team to a 1 goal win. His injury has reduced his chances at the Hart though.

I've been watching a lot of Canucks/Flames/Blues games and the Flames have been playing well. The Blues have also been playing well, but I think they have been a bit lucky to be on the run they're on. They get outplayed for large portions of games and then score on their 1st opportunity. The Blues have a PDO of 105.45 over their last 10 games (3rd highest in the league). Flames were probably a bit unlucky to lose their last 2 games and have had a PDO of 96.69 over the same stretch.

Both the Flames and Canucks would be down 1-2 points to the Blues even if they win all their games in hand and the Canucks have a very tough schedule. Not impossible, but they would really have to earn it. I guess there's also the possibility of passing the Wild.
